We finished our 10 week U3A Spanish Beginners class with a meal at New Olé. We left Cardiff Road, in Newport, and stepped into an oasis of Spain. Sitting on a terrace at the rear of the restaurant. We had a delicious three course tapas selection, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all. Very generous portions. Too much to eat and we all left with doggie bags. Anton, the chef/owner, is from Galicia in Northern Spain and he spent time with us to teach us about his homeland. We spoke in Spanish and even learnt a little Gallego, the language of Galicia. As we left, it was like saying goodbye to old friends. We were made so welcome by Anton and Fay. We will all be returning again individually and hopefully together as a group at Christmas. A highly recommended restaurant.

This restaurant is fantastic! Anton has years of experience cooking exceptional recipes passed down for generations. Each bite will leave you wanting more. But be sure to save room for pudding! Great ambiance, and the host is very personable because of the cozy environment of the restaurant. In the summertime, they also have a garden to dine in! Incredible dining experience. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone!

Walking around I discover this lovely place with typical Spanish food, I just wanted to order some food for take away to give it a try so I just ordered two different types of croquetas and it was absolutely amazing(which is complicated talking about croquetas), really tasty, plus we get a tapa of paella for free while we were waiting which was really kind and good too. I’ll be back to get a proper dinner soon

Classic. Let the missus pick only the 2nd place to eat in our 9 day trek through Wales and she picks another belter. This one and Lampeter. Booked a table on the day and managed to get in which is a shame as the are only 3 tables and this place should be booked out every day. Had 5 tapas. Chorizo Croquettes. Our favourite. Chicken Paella (even though it wasn't made to order, it was still fantastic). Some potato and egg dish with chorizo. Never heard of it before but would order it again. And finally, pork shoulder. Just yum. We talked to the waitress and the chef and it was great getting to know why they do what they do. It's not often you find people with a passion for doing something. We were so full but couldn't turn down a churros for dessert. It was the best churro I've eaten. Fresh. Crispy exterior, doughy, chewy centre. Perfect churros. And it was all so cheap for the food. We've been spending £40+ for two on meals but this was only £32. Well worth it and if we didn't live so far away, it would definitely be a regular. 5 stars...

Such an incredible little find!! Coming over to Newport for a few days, I always look to book restaurants in advance. I wanted to take my partner, who claims not to like tapas, to try some and New Olé had good reviews and a good amount of choice. When we walked in, my partner asked "are you sure this is a restaurant?" as it is so tiny and also serves as a takeaway, but it was rustic and charming and does have a couple of tables. Run by a lovely couple, the service was fantastic - very friendly and chatty, and super knowledgeable about the food. The chef is actually from Northern Spain, so you know you're getting an authentic taste! The portions were super generous for the price - exceptionally good value. All in all, a wonderful little restaurant that I wouldn't hesitate to come back to if I was in the area again. They did say they were expanding to have tables out in the garden, doubling the seating capacity and I would love...

La comida es deliciosa! 😁 Really enjoyed our meal there. Good portions, full of flavour, well seasoned, authentic Spanish food. The chef, Anton, and his wife, were lovely, often checking if all was Ok, but not intrusive. The gambas were so good, we had seconds! The churros were some of the best we've had. We booked to return on our way out. What a find! Just YUMMY 😋

Just spent another lovely evening at New Ole. La comida fue increible... Gracias Anton y Faye. A lovely welcome back, like visiting friends. Booked to return for a family celebration, as I know we won't be disappointed Hasta muy pronto! 😁 Just came back from another evening of great food, and the good company of Anton and Faye. Tonight was a family celebration. Everyone enjoyed the delicious meal and desserts. Otra Vez, muchas gracias....
