Little Kingdom — Local services in Newport

We had a fantastic time at Little Kingdom indoor playground today. As parents, we really appreciated how thoughtfully designed the space was — the styling reflects current trends, giving it a fresh, modern feel that made it genuinely enjoyable to be there. It’s not often you can say a softplay/indoor playground feels “cool,” but this one absolutely does.

The facilities were excellent. The bathrooms are well-equipped with child-sized toilets, adult facilities, baby changing stations, and conveniently placed sinks outside for easy handwashing. A particularly nice touch was the ability to order Clifton Coffee via QR code from the neighbouring café — the coffee was delicious and delivered straight to our table.

We especially loved the Casnewydd/Newport-themed play elements, which added a lovely local flavour. It’s also brilliant that children up to age 12 can join in — it makes the experience inclusive for a wider age range. Two hours of play for under £10 for one child and one adult felt like great value.

Security was clearly a priority too. The gated entry system prevents little ones from wandering off, and staff carefully check that no child is left behind when parents exit. The cameras inside the soft play area were also a reassuring feature, making it easier to keep track of the kids.

We’re especially grateful that Little Kingdom is right in the heart of the city centre. It gives families like ours a genuine reason to visit with children and encourages us to stay longer, explore more, and make use of the surrounding shops and cafés. It’s wonderful to have a space that’s not only fun and safe, but also helps breathe life into the local area.

Really amazing soft play area! You can tell a lot of money has been invested into this. There's so many different areas for all ages and abilities, and it's all custom built and a lot of it is Newport themed which is cool to see. It's absolutely huge and definitely the best soft play in the area. There's kiddies toilets and baby changing. There is air con which was needed as my 2.5 year old boy was sweating as he was doing so much running around as he was so excited! My 10 month old also loved it and there was a sensory area. It's really great to see a new Newport business thriving, it was really busy.

The only thing that let it down was the food. I kept the review at 5* as it was ordered from an outside restaurant so I don't think it was the venue's fault. We had to wait over 1 hour for the food so we were getting quite hungry (I did chase it up after 40 minutes), but these things happen, especially as the venue is new, and I think it was just a technical issue. There's no option to order cold drinks on the app, although you can order hot drinks, but there is a vending machine you can get cold drinks from.

We'll definitely be back again and we will try food again as I'm sure it was just a one off. My little boy will be talking about this soft play a lot for days to...

Excellent softplay. The range of areas for all ages is incredible. The attention to detail in the softplay and its accessories really shows the money and thought put into it. They have mini escape rooms, the main softplay which will keep children entertained for two hours alone, smaller children’s area, sensory area and a little role play area. I took a 3 and a 4 year old who did not want to leave and have been asking non stop all afternoon to go back. Really impressed with the cameras you can view in the seating area to keep an eye on your children wherever they are. Highly recommend for when it opens, we will definitely be back. The only bit of constructive feedback I would provide is on the website when looking at prices, there is a charge of £2.50 per adult. This may deter some families as most of the other softplay around Newport do not charge for adults. Average softplay price is around £10-£12 for two children, however as you have to pay for adults here the cost for 2 adults 2 children will...
