New World Chinese Restaurant & Take Away — Restaurant in Newport

We have been coming here for the past couple of months, this is an excellent venue for a night out with Great Food, Excellent Service, Good Atmosphere.

There is a range of menu available to choose from, from the A La carte, cook to order buffet, and the new chinese traditional menu favoured by the the chinese and the chinese students from China.

We went with the cooked to order buffet, which was an excellent choice as we get to choose form a large range, the dishes was served piping hot to our table by a waiter or waitress.

We all chose what we wanted and this was provided on a large platter for the starters and we could, and did, order more than one. The main course were served individually and there was even an in between course to choose from.

The food is exquiste, amongst the best Chinese food I have ever tasted and I will certainly go there again. Everything including the beautiful tables, comfortable chairs, marble floor, the chopsticks and cutlery was of good quality and the staff could not do enough for you.

The restaurant is located opposite the polic station, next to the pizza hut. It is quite small so there is good ambience. The total cost worked out at about a very reasonable £15.95 a head.

I would suggest that any visitor should unearth this lovely restaurant in Newport.

The food here is delicious, you can find all your usual favourites and many traditional items on the menu. The curry and sweet & sour sauce is great, and this is probably one of the only Chinese restaurants in Newport that serves food that doesn't taste of sugar and MSG. Instead of leaving this place feeling sick, you'll leave feeling valued and satisfyingly full.

We sat around a huge circular table with a lazy susan (turntable in center). The food was all pre-ordered and ready to go, we were treated to course after course of delicious and refined food. This restaurant focuses on quality and smaller quantity that can be reordered at no extra cost on the buffet.

When the food is that good, the conversation flowed and the party atmosphere followed. The staff catered to our every need and the whole experience was easy and appropriately, happy!

I think that it is the best Chinese food I have ever had and it seems to be a favourite amongst the Newport-based, Chinese community and Chinese students too. If you haven't been you absolutely need to go ASAP!

In more recent years I have tended to use the New World Chinese Restaurant more as a Take Away. In fact I actually drive across Newport, so good is the food (despite the worry, that the food will get cold if I hit traffic on...

We've ordered a lot from this restaurant over the years and always had a decent experience. NYE we ordered food at 1900 due to be delivered between 1945 and 2015. Knowing it was NYE we waited until 2040 to call the restaurant and it took 28 attempts before they answered the phone and then 8 minutes to give me an answer and tell me it would be 20 more minutes. An hour later no food had arrived and now I couldnt get through despite 50 attempts to call. I went to bed at 2310 and still no food, despite the restaurant having said on the app that it had been delivered at 1950 which is clearly s way to bodge their business stats on just eat. I fully understand that it is NYE and it is busy but had someone been honest on the phone the one and only time I got through I would have cancelled. To then not be able to get through once after 50 attempts is insane. It's shame, and I doubt they care, but I will never order...
