Adequate but, to my knowledge, there are at least two other Wetherspoon pubs within easy walking distance that are far better - I went in for breakfast. It was busy with their breakfast trade but not overly busy. It was spotlessly clean - including the toilets. The coffee, as always in Wetherspoons, was excellent, with free refills. It had a comfortable atmosphere - BUT? The food took just over 15 minutes to arrive and, despite it looking attractively presented, it was stone cold. The Wiltshire cured ham was delicious; the English muffin on which the meat sat, was anaemic-looking and dried out (No golden toasted appearance for this bun). The poached eggs were poached to perfection - but, they were cold. The Hollandaise sauce would have tasted sublime - but, it was also cold. The rocket was crisp, fresh and delicious. I wouldn't return here, bearing in mind there are so many other food outlets within such a small radius of the city centre - where the food you order is both delicious and HOT! MARKS? COULD...
Read moreDoor staff a who have no respect or consideration for customers who are in the building and leave doors open so cold wind blows in and ruins there evening and when you tell the person in question close the door show respect and consideration for customers he gets offended and then does it more and than old couple who are freezing because of this mans actions and laughs is this the person you want working in your pub feel free to contact me he is a white male man with a beard and glasses always looking for trouble it seems Weatherspoon's im more than happy to sort this out. Ironic that i was asked to leave by this person as it was said he did not want me winding him up all night that's really ironic im respectful and a very polite person i expect others maybe to show me some courtesy and customers inside your pub the same not to much...
Read moreWe've been here quite a few times. This wetherspoon is pretty popular in Newport. It can get extremely busy and it can be hard to find seats.
This place does have a few seats and tables outside the premises, but it does not have a second story. People may find themselves waiting a while for a seat or going somewhere else.
This wetherspoon also feels quite crammed with a of the tables being quite close together, especially down the middle of the venue as you walk in/head to the bar.
The food served here is decent and tasty enough as you would expect from a weatherspoon and for the price, can't complain.
Service can be a little backed up and slow during peak times, which is expected due to the volume of people waiting for their orders, but other than that, the service is good here.
Definitely recommend...
