Food. Had salted caramel cheesecake and a moose cake. The moose cake was not fresh at all. It has been laying out for days and tasted off. The fruit seemed fresh. Drinks. The Sicilian lemonade drinks had little taste of lemons , so quite a let down as I wanted something refreshing and tasty at the same time. The cuppachinos were strong and well made. Staff. Dull and unwelcoming. The very young girl and blonde woman were just at the back of the shop chatting for ages while I counted 10 dirty tables needed tidied and cleaned. The shop in general was the worst Nero I have been in and I have visited most around northern Ireland when I visit each town as I like the coffee here. Coleraine is my favourite, but this place is a shambles and it's not a surprise seeing those girls I mentioned leave tables unattended for over mins that we were there. I mentioned the tables before, but the sofa as you can see in the photos has an old tray laying on it with a plate and crumbs, the girl did not lift it off after she passed us 15-20 mins after we were seated. The red sofa was also disgustingly dirty with black stains. If you look at the photo of the bench there are bits of crumbs and all sorts that have probably been there for weeks, maybe they don't like to use a brush......yuk! Not impressed with this place at all. What a let down and I love Nero in Coleraine and Belfast. Someone needs to sort this place out.

Large coffee shop with a wide range of varied seating inside including for large groups. Find it on the Main Street in Newcastle in the old Ulster bank building, close to country fried chicken and a short walk from the promenade / beach front. Baby chinos for the wee ‘uns were novel and good value and we happily used our o2 priority apps which gave most of us, as customers of o2 for our mobile phone contracts, a free hot drink given it was a Wednesday afternoon. We also treated the kids to some arty packaged gingerbread people. They also have chilled tap water freely available in jugs on the side which is very good to see. It’s relatively new but the toilets really could do with some work and the toilet seat replaced it is very discoloured. There are 2 single toilets available inside. I’m originally from the seaside town of Newcastle and find Caffè Nero in most cities and towns I frequent so if you are visiting the area as a tourist I would still recommend popping into local NI brand for a coffee, better range of desserts and locally made ice cream. On this occasion with o2 priority and of course our Caffè Nero loyalty apps the value for money was just too great to entertain frequenting anywhere else for our coffee catch up.

Good coffee, good prices. Average staff and cleanliness. Has no deserts remaining when we turned up (although no stars lost as it was Xmas Eve). Nice layout and atmosphere however. It's a good location and definitely an alternative location to Maids cafe which is just opposite and always busy (yet definitely average). There isn't much choice for coffee shops around here so I would recommend this as the best for a quick coffee and bite to eat with friends.

This Caffe Nero has seriously gone down hill and is a let down to all the other branches. Visited 27th July and found the staff to be downright rude and unhelpful. The girl that served me seemed peeved that I had a couple of drink vouchers to use, but I had been saving my rewards up especially for my summer holiday. The latte that she made me tasted nothing like a latte and to top it all off she started screaming at people for not wearing masks (some people are exempt you know!). I would not recommend this branch in Newcastle, co down. I will not be returning unless they decide to employ some staff who know a bit about...
