I’m slightly gutted to be leaving a poor eview as the food here is amazing but twice the service has let them down. Most recent was Last night when we ordered a take away for collection… they said leave an hour before collecting. So we arrived 1 hr later and then had to wait 45minutes for our food. They hadn’t even started cooking it when we arrived and there were several other annoyed customers in front of us who had also been waiting for their collection. They must have taken on too much which for an experienced restaurant is poor planning. We barely got an apology and only when I repeatedly approached staff with my annoyance did they offer me a free drink. I didn’t want a drink … I wanted to be home with my family and friends enjoying our meal, celebrating my husbands birthday. When the food did arrive I checked it through and there was a meal missing. So glad I hadn’t driven home before discovering this!!!!! Poor service and some of the staff really didn’t seem to care. So many collection orders were late and they didn’t even utter an apology once they finally brought out the food. On a positive note the new refurb looks great and diners who were eating in looked to be well tended to but better planning is needed overall!! All those Unhappy customers that could easily have been avoided!!! Thank fully the food was delicious as usual but it’s definitely put me off ordering for...

We went Saturday night , and have been going for 20 years and have never been so disappointed in the behaviour of the manager, just downright rude , each time we go our bill is £250+ as there's always at least 8 of us....I called on the day and asked for a high chair as we were let down for child care. To be told I should book one when I book the table. I said oh I will bring the booster that I attach to a dining chair then, no you're in a booth. Turn up to be asked where the baby is so I said well she hasn't come because we didn't have anywhere to sit her....he then says I've changed all my bookings and tables for you the high chair is there and then said just sit them down. Later after we ordered I asked if we could have 1 madras to take away (for the pwrson who had to miss out because they didnt have a high chair!)....no it will be an hour....he then agreed after my husband asked again and made us wait 40 minutes for it stood in the restaurant. After we finished our meals and they cleared the table they were ready for us to leave I said where are the cakes .... we were there for my son and daughters birthday.... he then said oh its late didn't think you wanted them! I can safely say we will definitely not be returning the attitude is absolutely disgusting! Can't believe the difference a refurbishment can make to the running of a place, so so...

It’s a shame to write this review as the service and food was fantastic however, please be aware before you go that the prices in the current menu 27.8.23 are incorrect and they will add a 10% service charge onto your bill and not tell you unless you ask, legally this can be removed and you can tip whatever you feel appropriate for the service you receive but be mindful if you tip you could have already tipped 10% of your bill unknowingly already. We went as a large party of 3 families so as we knew we were splitting the bill, everyone had worked out how much they owed for what they had using the prices on the menus we were given on arrival. When it came to paying we realised we were £40 short so checked our adding up multiple times, which was correct. When we queried this the manager said there was a 10% service charge that we had to pay and handed us a piece of paper stating that the prices in the menu were incorrect and had gone up. We feel that this information should have been provided when we booked and or arrived and that the service charge was legally optional, they didn’t have in writing anywhere how much items were with the new prices so basically they can charge whatever they want. This turned a lovely meal out into a very stressful experience and has put us...
