Older, Abrupt female as a staff member. When we came in the waiter told us to go down, basically to the basement with poor quality tables, where you need to sit incredibly close to another guests as it is packed with so many tables. We have spotted a table which was next to the wall so we don’t need to look in to the food and conversation of other people. We asked if we can sit there and the nice waiter said that, yes no problem. Suddenly an older lady with very strong accent (probably Malaysian) came to us yelling aggressively that this table is dirty and how we even dare to seat there, after that she literally KICKED our bag (it was on the floor) under the table. She yelled that we should wait on the side till she allows us to sit. Basically she treated us worst than street dogs. We were so shocked that at the very moment we did not react. After the meal she came with a bill explaining that she acted as she acted because the other members of staff don’t know how to work and she got nervous. Then she kind of apologized and ask us to put a nice review about her in Google…. On top of everything they charge 12,5% for the service, in our case it was 5 pounds extra!!!! We usually do not put negative reviews but this abrupt female should not work with the public. As an advice - contract more civilized people as she just spoils the image of...
Read moreWent with friends for lunchtime meal at this very popular restaurant. We were given a warm welcome on arrival and shown to our table. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The menu is comprehensive authentic Chinese, mostly Cantonese, (and not aimed at the sickly sweet European taste) an amazing range of starters, combo dishes, sea food, beef, chicken and duck platters to choose from with vegetable and rice dishes all beautifully arranged and served. There was a very good drinks listing both alcoholic and soft as well as different teas. The quality of the food is evidenced in the diners being mostly local Chinese people. The restaurant has comfortable seating but as it is so popular the tables seem to be very close sometimes impeding service. The toilet facilities were spotless but up a very long steep staircase. Parking has to be some way distant as the restaurant does not have any parking. As the restaurant is on one level disabled access is okay from the street, but toilet access could be a problem. Children are...
Read moreUsed as my local for a while as was the best out of a bad bunch average food, slow service fishy and rude, terrible decor and dated awful music that’s just Chinese wind chimes playing over and over and over becomes rather irritating after a while, WONT be going back ever again. Service was shocking and added £12 on bill for service charge which wasn’t worthy at all and I will always pay if service is good, three adults one baby had just starters 4 starters half duck 4 alcoholic drinks £112
This is the best part they charged us £4 for soy sauce and some sweet chilli sauce to go with out salt and pepper squid how can you charge for a sauce that’s meant to come with a dish, like charging to use cute dog or salt and pepper never heard anything like it, food average at best but round this way there’s no food options!!! Pricey rude and cheeky, will stick to Peking palace in Sawbridheworth which is unreal and worth the 50 min round trip from Buntingford
