Cosy, characterful place with fantastic food & a great variety of beers. The pub offers an array of handmade sausages as part of their menu. Myself & the husband ordered the sausages in yorkshire pudding (his choice of sausages were Cumberland & mine pork & honey). Both were very tasty & packed with meat (sorry to fellow vegetarians/vegans!) & very much savoured. & The dish in itself was plentiful, although a little short on vegetables other than mashed potato, although I like plenty of other vegetables! All in all, a great visit. Such a shame its not more local to us!

Our go to pub in Baldock. Anywhere from 6-10 Cask ales on at a time, the majority of which are from local breweries. The Sunday roasts are exceptional (booking is needed as they're often fully booked on a Sunday). Lovely big garden and dog friendly too.

A fantastic family-friendly find - nice playground fenced in to the side of the beer garden, visible from inside and out, delicious food, friendly staff, and fine cask ales. Adults enjoyed good conversation while the kids tired themselves out playing.

My daughter Grandson and I went for lunch. Young lady behind the bar was very nice and polite. The food however was NOT! First there was no fish, so my daughter ordered a burger which she could not eat as it was so tasteless. I ordered the pea & ham soup, didn't seem to have any ham in my soup at all.. quite tasteless, doused it with vinegar to improve the taste. My daughter spoke to the young lady behind the bar and was refunded for her food. Lovely open fire, i do appreciate that this causes dust...but very dusty and grubby in the room we were aat in. Would NOT recommend and...

I came to this pub to make a delivery I was so impressed to what they have done to the pub. I came back the next day for a drink and some food. Unfortunately for us due to the music festival being on the menu was limited. There was 100 plus bands playing in this area. So it was a very busy weekend. If you are interested you must come and see it for yourself. Due to covid, due to the pub being closed the owners opened a shop inside. Due to the success he then built a purpose shop on the grounds of the pub. Which is still open today. What a landlord to have in...
