The Gangway — Restaurant in North Norfolk

Went here to meet a friend for coffee and cake....went in and as there should have been three of us looked around for a table ...there was one free but only for two so we opted to share a larger table of eight in the window...it was occupied with a young lady with feet up on the seats sat right across the bench seat and it looked awful and she was intent on her phone.....we asked if she would mind sharing and she gave us an absolutely filthy look and as we sat down ...she made a point of getting up and stomping to the table of two....she later walked past the table and stared rudely at my friend and made us feel awkward and unwelcome on our first and last visit to the gangway because it turned out that this young lady was staff and when she got up she went behind the counter to serve..... It was awkward , rude and having staff sit with feet all over chairs where people sit shows it's poorly run.politeness...

I’ve never been to the gangway before. The first thing I want to complain about was that I was waiting at the bar just to ask if they do hot chocolate. One particular staff member just had an abrupt attitude with just a ‘Yes’, as if I felt like an inconvenience. When I asked if I could have it, she had to humiliate me as if that’s a stupid thing to ask for it and order it! (Even the other staff member chuckled with her). I paid for it and sat down to have my hot chocolate, except I’ve been left humiliated by their comment leaving me upset and angry as soon as I was on my way home. Nice atmosphere, nice drink, but I think someone’s gonna need to tune in with...

Went on Saturday 19th it wasn’t busy we were served by a very rude girl, she was blunt, sharpe with any question I asked her and felt humiliated there was no thank you or customer service or any manners she almost couldn’t be bothered to serve me as it was too much trouble and she kept laughing at me for no reason but fortunately another girl stepped in and was very polite and friendly which helped, the only saving grace was the coffee was nice but not sure I would go back again shame as this was our first visit and we are locals and considering how busy everywhere else was in the town this place wasn’t so I would sack her for attitude alone she’s costing...
