🤨😥☹MUST READ...Whilst the decor is quaint and interesting there is a terrible lack of customer service, and a severe lack of smiley, friendly greetings upon first entering and through out our visits. Bar staff are often absent or ignore you when they do finally choose to serve you there language is blunt and unprofessional and unfriendly. I have noticed regularly through out the week the pub is always very empty and sometimes deserted! I literally do not know how they afford to keep the lights on ? A small group of regulars gather on Thursday's quiz night to drink and exercise the little grey cells. There is nowhere to park as the owners choose to use the large pub carpark as their OWN private car park and club house and lock the gates to keep you out! They have even built their own private garages in the car park taking up half the the space! and they seem to regularly entertain some travellers in mobile homes on a frequent basis putting them up in the car park lol ! Drinks are not served in the correct glasses especialy gin. I think its important to note that...... We were told food stops being served at 8:45pm but to our dismay we discovered the kitchen will close early depending on how the chef is feeling so don't rely on that and watch out because the staff will only check if the chef is feeling ok to cook for you AFTER you are served an order of drinks and placed your food order!!! This happend more than once to us. The food is ok but the condiments are not bottled instead you get service station sachets and your food unceremoniously dumped down on your table rather impolitely and no member of staff bothers to check during the meal if everything is to your liking probably because they don't care! Finally during your evening meal if it is not busy which it never is! the staff will pull down the window blinds about 9:30pm - 9:45pm and start to stack the chairs dirty feet down on the tables around you while you eat your dinner giving one the impression that they would like you to hurry up and leave soon also whilst stirring up the dust from the carpet into the air all around you and your food. Overall we as a family have had a thoroughly unpleasant experience on a few occasions in the past as I believe in giving people chances. We will not be going back! Avoid and if you do want a pleasant customer service oriented atmosphere and enjoyable experience may I suggest the two life boats on the seafront instead as we were forced to go there and found it most acceptable and above...
Read moreHad a weekend in sheringham decided to go out for lunch the Robin hood looked nice and had good reviews! Pub inside was nice, menu ok,both my husband and I had the serlion steak it came with the usual chips, peas, home made onion rings and tomatoes.both of us asked for medium to well done,I had to send my steak back as it was so bloody and under cooked when I cut in to it,there was so much fat on both of them by the time we cut it off there was hardley any meat left, Home made onions rings were to thick with batter, greasy and tasteless, chips were over cooked and limited, it was that bad we left most of our meals and left, drinks were flat and warm, worst part was about an hour after eating in the robin hood we both had constant Diarrhoea and felt sick for rest of afternoon we had to cancel our afternoon/evening plans. Not a pub we would ever recommend unless you want to spend the rest of your day on the toilet worst of all we paid £50 for a horrible tastless meal macdonalds would've...
Read moreGood traditional pub food with friendly service and reasonable prices. Interesting Tardis exit door, which appeals to Whovians like me.
Covid-19 measures are in place with screens dividing each four-seater table. Proper plates and cutlery though, which is good.
Update: 18th August 2022 Service is still friendly and prices are still reasonable. We went here tonight primarily for food. The initial frustration was finding a menu: we didn't see one in the window and there were none at the bar. When we eventually found one and were ready to order we were told that they were suspending orders for 15 minutes while they dealt with a booking. Finally we ordered and after a further 40 minute wait the food arrived. We were sitting outside and a man who seemed fairly out of breath brought the food, panting all over it.
Overall the experience was good; I had the steak and ale pie (which was presented as a casserole with a puff pastry lid) served with chips and peas,...
