Anson — Restaurant in North Tyneside

We visited the anson on Friday, it was our second time as we went 2 weeks ago. We initially went to play a game of bingo which was quite entertaining. The staff are very welcoming, particularly Adam the fella that calls the bingo and Kat is especially lovely 🥰 she was so nice to me which made me feel much better about being somewhere so busy, as I was initially a little nervous. We didn't win but enjoyed the entertainment 😁. There's a beer garden where you can have a smoke, there was extra entertainment in the square (a gospel band for Easter I think) they were awesome so joyous 🩷 I got to watch during the bingo breaks. After the bingo we decided to get some dinner...Darren initially thought we should get the mega mixed grill, I thought the classic would be plenty 🤔 In all fairness we should've asked if there was a smaller option! 😂 the portion sizes are crazy big!! Even the classic sized mixed grill comes on a serving plate which is that hot its still sizzling! (No idea how the lad didn't burn his hands as I did trying to rearrange 🙄😂) my only real quarm was the peppersauce it didn't taste like peppersauce I usually make 🤨 was a bit unusual maybe a beer taste to it 🤔 Also since I'm being a bit of a fusspot was wondering bout the fried onions 🤔 there were loads I'm not sure what they added to the meal, I think maybe a handful of rocket would've been better (has a distinct peppery taste and a bit of green would've been more apesing to the eyes) But other than that was fantastic! We had a nice time and your animal friendly which is a huge bonus. Your staff are all marvellous, kind, friendly and helpful 🥰 we rate you highly but the star rating doesn't seem enough so you get extra 👍👍 👍👍 🐾 since there was myself, Darren and midnight. Me and my friend went in when England game was on before the football came on we had a chatting and few drinks as soon the england came on they blast the speakers up loud we couldn't hear ourselves and have a chatt l am deaf 2ears l wear hearing aids my friend was really sick l ask member off staff a woman try turn speakers down all l get we can't they have 2 many tvs around the anson they should have a quiet lounge so people can go 4 a quiet drink and not having loud speakers blasting and a place in anson have nomal tv on and people like me and my friend go in 4 a catch up talking not having a football stadium in anson tvs blasting full volume l am 58 years old my friend is 62 years old all we like 2 do have quiet drink not having blasting football game on tv 2 loud they have 2 many tvs l like 2 know how much they pay 4 tv licence again 2 many tvs and should have some tvs on so people can watch nomal tv they need do lot improvements on this l rate anson 2/5 ! 2 stars 4 the staff bit slow at the bar getting your drink needs do lot better a lot better very disappointed in...

We booked a table for 6 for dinner and upon arriving were seated next to a couple with their dogs??? I am completely fine with dogs beings allowed but to be sat next to them while eating? Should this really be allowed??? Drinks were ok. Their was a live singer on this night, although he was good I couldn't have a conversation as you couldn't hear anything over the music. This aside we still ordered our food and I very much wish we had not. The burger that was ordered was like rubber with cheese embedded and the bun extremely dry. The fish was undercooked, so much so ot was uneatable. My friend ordered the steak with peppercorn sauce. The sauce was not given and when asked was assured it would be brought over. After waiting we had to ask again after seeing the staff standing around talking to each other. We immediately decided we would not be returning again.
