Had lovely meal with my Grandson today. Nice friendly service. Clean and tidy. Good prices. About 5 - 10 min walk from Wallsend metro and local bus service stops right outside. It is right next to Wallsend shopping centre and good local pubs. I will definitely be back and I have already visited with friends and family. Toilets are downstairs and have accessible access x UPDATE weatherspoon you really need to clear and clean your tables Every time I go into most your weatherspoon I have to clear table myself or ask for it to be cleared then you have to ask can you clean table as they never do and no you are not always that busy. Also ritz Wallsend you should have clear queue up service as when you go to the bar you stand waiting at 1 till and further down someone goes to the next empty till straight away when you've been waiting some times ages to be served. Finally 5 piece pepperoni pizza, wow, c'mon need more pepperoni than that but when I asked about this they said that's enough for that size pizza, was a small. My southern fried chicken was just warm it must have been left on serving hatch for ages or cooked before and kept warm, pizza was just warm also. update Please please please put heating on in toilet my butt was freezing lol and when you need to sign the chart on wall and a nan has to come in to women's toilet please knock and shoult male attendance anyone in. I was in toilets today and a male member of staff walked in I could have been doing anything, might not have been decent x Could you ask staff to clear tables and wipe tables as well as take glasses as that's all they seem to do Still no change in clearing the tables you either have to do it yourself or wait ages for them to do it then most time they are not happy cos you've asked them to do it Still terrible service...

Firstly I'd just like to point out I'm not one to leave a bad review or to complain about a restaurant in general but this by far has took the biscuit! Upon entering weatherspoons I headed to my table and placed an order via the app, the 3 of us ordered large mixed grills and soft drinks, as our food arrived which was pretty quick to be honest we noticed a couple of items missing, we then asked a member of staff where our 18 onion rings were and our garlic bread with cheese which we'd ordered as an extra. To be told there's no onion rings and they won't be replacing them with anything else. So we then asked another member of staff about this to be told 'Well there is a sign on the bar! Baring in mind we are social distancing so had to be seated right away to order off the app. Anyhow half way through eating my mixed grill I noticed my pork was pink, so yet again I asked a member of staff to rectify this to be told its cooked. Then I was approached by another member of staff who asked for my pork and took it away, for her to then come back and state it had been probed and was at the right temperature, the pork was stone cold so how that worked out I will never know. After all of this I continued to eat the chips which were actually really nice , for another member of staff to come over to the table and started being snotty with us as though we under cooked his meal. I mean by far is this the worst customer service in history and a total unpleasant experience. So up yours weatherspoons 🖕😂 Weatherspoons...
Read moreVisited The Ritz on Sunday evening and found a couple of pretty serious failings in the covid saftey measures unfortunately. Glasses left on all the tables, tables not being cleaned - and they clearly hadn't been cleaned in some time - and the gents toilet was absolutely disgusting. The floor was soaked in urine, water covering the unit around the sinks, water running down the wall under the hand dryer and pooling on the floor. My Wife had a similar problem with the ladies. We brought these issues to the managers attention and he told us that he knew all about these problems, but couldn't do anything as he was short staffed. Surely the priority is cleanliness? The priority is unfortunately getting food out from the kitchen and serving drinks. Better for business but not of much use if environmental health call in and shut the branch down. We regularly go to the Ritz and were very pleased when the restrictions were lifted and we could go back and enjoy a drink. It feels like the paying public and doing what is asked of them in difficult times, but you are not doing all you can to keep them safe. The manager we spoke with was very encouraging for us to submit this review as it would mean his area manager would get to see it and might act upon it. Well, here you are. I'll be back in - if the Ritz is in the same state, I think I owe it to the health of my town to report it to...
