We visited Sopranos one weekday lunchtime to take advantage of their £7 a head 3 course lunchtime offer. It's a traditional looking Italian restaurant located on Wallsend High St. The interior is decorated with frame pictures from Italian Mafia movies. For £7 a head you might be expecting average food, but we were really impressed by how tasty our dishes were. Really very enjoyable, by any standards! The atmosphere of a lunchtime here is quiet, with friendly service from staff. We enjoyed a couple of glasses of Red Wine with our 3 course meal and the total bill came to around £22. An absolute bargain! We'll definitely be returning here for lunch again.

Great Italian Restaurant in Wallsend. Ive lived in Wallsend all of my life. Ive seen Sopranos open, then expand by taking on thr place next door but until now Ive never been in. What a mistake! The menu is extensive, the portions are generous (we brought away doggy bags) and the food is beautifully cooked & served hot and fresh. Our waitress was fab, answering our questions and checking how our food was. Thank you! We will be back.

My first visit to Sopranos with two friends. The Happy Hour price is extremely good value & all if the food was delicious. The staff were efficient and friendly. Definitely recommended.

After 8 years of being a loyal Sopranos regular, I'm so disappointed to say its now R.I.P. Sopranos. The last review for Sopranos was a much deserved 5-Star. This review is lucky to even attain 1-Star.

Due to the pandemic, we were unable to visit Sopranos, but we supported them via takeaway orders. Then the restaurant was taken over by new management.

We returned to try the new Sopranos but were left extremely disappointed. Our usual starters were so bitter garlic ridden, for the first time in my life I sent it back. They replaced our starters of Garlic Cheese Bread and Garlic Gambrioni (sp) both returned exactly the same.

The garlic main was the same, we highlighted our concerns and left. To be fair they didn't charge us for the unconsumed meals.

We returned this evening to give our previously favourite haunt another chance. Worse mistake ever from a culinary front.

Forty minutes wait in a half empty restaurant for our less than average garlic cheese bread and luke warm baked brie.

So disappointed, we asked for the bill and to cancel our main meal. We were told it was already cooked. Strange that, we hadn't even finished our starter yet our main rare steak and chilli Gambaroni was already cooked? We went for chilli as opposed to garlic for all the reasons previously mentioned.

We bit the bullet, paid the full bill and waited another 5-7 minutes for our 'already cooked' takeout.

We arrived home to find the Gambaroni wasn't the chilli we had ordered but the horrendous garlic, that again was so strong, vampires within a 10,000 mile radius are still running for cover.

On a plus note, the rare takeout fillet streak...

We normally love sopranos and have had many lovely meals however tonight was unfortunately our first awful take away from here. It took an hour and 10 minutes to arrive and we live around the corner. We would have collected if it wasn’t for the torrential rain and the fact this was our anniversary meal in. Chips had continued to cook that much in the foil container they were all soggy and stick together. They were completely inedible. We ordered a steak fajitas and a pollo Diane and what came was chicken fajitas, but it’s wasn’t even that, not only was it not the steak I’d asked for (baring in mind Thursday is there steak night! How?!) but it was a sliced chicken breast in tomato water with limp peppers and two rock hard store bought tortilla wraps. My partners pollo Diane was also in a weird greasy watery sauce with a residue on the top of it paired with another sliced chicken breast which he said was dry. Overall our anniversary has been spoiled from this awful meal from somewhere we normally love. I have given three stars as all our other meals have been nice apart from this one, but we may...

Disappointing and mediocre, italian restaurant with no italian lagers on draft, only bottles (warm) ... Red flags from the off, asked for table for three, sat in dark corner given and given menu, no drinks asked at beginning, service was slow waited five minutes until waitress returned for drinks, we said ready to order both. Food was mediocre overall and pizza very disappointing, can say its a cheap pizza hut version, covered in cheese and weak tomato sauce flavour, not italian Neapolitan style at all, like Chicago town brand microwave pizza base type. Overall just didn't feel welcomed at all, no service, we had to ask for drinks all the time, and for my mother's Sunday dinner charging £1 mint sauce, wow. Asking for the final bill too, took two attempts waiting 5-10mins for it, but ended having to go to the bar, so we...
