Bit disappointed when we visited. We sat outside which was nice and we had to order at the main window rather than inside the cafe, this did have a bit of a wait as this is also the take away area for ice creams and coffee. We ordered coffees and paninis. The place wasn't at all busy, fairly empty inside. Coffees came which were spilled but was a nice coffee anyway. But we did have quite a wait for food and when it did eventually arrive mine was wrong, ordered Mediterranean veg but got sundried tomato and mozzarella (too salty and not well made). Hubby had ham and peas pudding, ok. Just not really sure if I'd rush back for food.

It's a small place, but comfy. I had never being there before, but it's popular the cafe was packed. Everything is made fresh, so you have to wait, but you are warn when you're place your order. When our order arrive, it was delicious. It was piping hot & we enjoyed it. So it was a nice day at Cullercoats. After we went to the play area. The photos are from that day in the play area. Lovely on a bright Saturday afternoon for the kids & parents

As a regular here I was very shocked to be verbally attacked by the manageress upon returning a jacket potato that had multiple black parts to it. She openly undermined her co worker to me who was actually the one who had the customer focused skill set and had immediately offered a refund or alternative meal and was very nice. I was accused of not returning the meal early enough and for eating some of it, infact i'd had 1 quarter of the potato, she'd thrown the food in the bin before making her accusations while expecting me to pay for an alternative dish. Shocking and reactive behaviour, I was lost for words. As a previous manager with multiple streams of customer focused areas this was clearly an example of how never to behave especially in front of other customers and staff. It left an undercurrent and bad atmosphere. My wife who has experience of retail was disgusted at what she witnessed. This is an establishment we enjoyed frequenting, but unfortunately because of this individuals unprofessional behaviour and actions a return will be unlikely. Not even as much as an apology before we left. Something like sorry I am having a bad day would have done. Nothing but an...

I really want to like this place...however, theres just a few things that let this place down. Is the place clean, yep, is the food good, yep, so what's the issue? Well , after a few visits I still find you wait ages to get served. Then, like today, all I ordered was a latte and a scone and had to wait ages for them to bring over. Then had to upgrade to a jam which didn't really want but had to get something to make it over the £5 threshold so I could pay using debit card. Then on leaving with my 1yr old son thought I'd buy him an ice cream from their parlour next door and yep, you guessed it, they wouldn't let me use my debit card because it wasnt over £5 and despite my requests that I'd just bought and ate in their restaurant, they still came back with, 'well we get charged', pathetic. For the record went to the ice cream place, B&J's in the car park who have no debit card limit and it was lovely. If a small ice cream can can allow surely you guys can. So Come on beaches and mean, it's the 21st century and not the 80's, try helping...

Really poor. I'm vegetarian and ordered the Mozzarella and tomato panini. Waited around 20 minutes to get the sandwich which arrived with chicken in it. I obviously wasn't happy because I choose not to eat meat, but understood people make mistakes. I told the waitress, who handled it well and said that the correct sandwich would be on its way. 5 minutes later a new panini was given to me. However in one half there was a single piece of chicken under the cheese. So I can only think that the kitchen staff had "removed" the chicken and added some tomatoes to the same "vegetarian" sandwich . Pure laziness and just plan unacceptable. I told the waitress who was quite shocked at what had blatantly happened and she apologised talking it away. I got the correct one after about half an hour, which was cold, not properly heated and I can only think it was rushed. I would never eat here again or recommend it because I wouldn't trust the kitchen staff who are clearly thoughtless, lazy...
