There is a special corner of hell for places like Madi Bakes, and hopefully there is a long queue winding towards it.
We had looked in the window at the amazingly tempting selection of homemade cakes. Using our iron willpower (we'd not long had breakfast at the hotel), we pulled ourselves away and tried to walk up the street... only to be hot by a blast of the bakery and the smell of freshly baked yummies (I suspect there are special vents to waft the smell on those poor souls who pass the cafe).

Read moreAfter taking a walk round town we found this cafe and stopped as it was an independent shop and loved the look of the cakes/bakes. We all had something different but I tried a little of each and they were amazing especially the crumble, coffee was beautiful too. So glad we stopped here and supported a local cafe. The two ladies there were happy and attentive, they clearly love what they do and it shows. Highly recommend and I would return in a heartbeat especially when they make the cakes and bakes fresh on site. Could not fault the place and only wish I was a local to the area as i would be here daily!...

My friend gave me a slice of a brownie from Madi Bakes a few weeks back and it was absolutely delicious. I now make and will be making regular visits.
So far I've tried the rascals, Nutella brownie and biscoff brownie, everything else looks scrumptious too... Warming the rascal and adding butter just makes them even more perfect. My favourite so far is the biscoff brownie., but I've got so many gorgeous goodies yet to try...
The staff are extremely friendly and are very willing to answer any questions.
