I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Bad Cat Café & Rescue in Wallsend, and it was an unforgettable experience. This charming café offers a serene atmosphere where patrons can enjoy a delightful cup of tea or coffee while interacting with the resident rescue cats. The café serves a selection of hot and cold drinks, sandwiches, and treats, all at reasonable prices. During my visit, I had the joy of meeting several of their adorable feline residents: Bright Eyes, Ciri, Cloud, Coco, Luna, Minnie, Nala, and Pecan. Each cat has its own unique personality, and it’s heartwarming to know that all of them are rescues looking for their forever homes. The café partners with rescues across Europe, taking in strays who have had some of the toughest starts in life. The staff, led by owners Tamsin and Roxy, are incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable. They’ve created a family-friendly environment, with walls adorned with cat-themed artwork contributed by young visitors. Children are encouraged to add their own masterpieces to the display, making it a truly interactive experience. For those considering adoption, the café provides a unique opportunity to spend quality time with the cats in a relaxed setting, ensuring a perfect match. Additionally, they offer cat-sitting services in the local area, demonstrating their commitment to feline welfare. Whether you’re looking to adopt or simply enjoy the company of some delightful cats, The Bad Cat Café & Rescue is a must-visit. I can’t wait for my next visit!

I’ve had the most amazing experience adopting my two babies from the Bad Cat Cafe. We were supported throughout and continue to keep in touch and receive advice as needed. Tamzin and Roxy are incredible women who genuinely care for all of the cats and know what is best for them. They ensure that potential adopters know the cats personalities and all the history they have. I would adopt a dozen more if I could as the process of as fantastic and the support has continued to be amazing. I have recommended the cafe to so many people, if not for adoption, for a cuppa and emotional well being care.

This is an amazing place to just sit and chill with the cats and if you’re looking for a cat to adopt this is the perfect place. By the way I’m 11 and and I loved every single cat but I mainly bonded with the little black kitten 🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛ . He was called Hugo and he was only 10 weeks and was very jumpy !! Amazing place !! The lady who worked there was also very friendly and helpful and she clearly loved all the cats aswell !!

My husband and I adopted our cat, Bella, from the Bad Cat Cafe and Rescue. She is a beautiful, healthy, happy girl full of personality, and the entire adoption process was wonderful. Bella had a rougher start to life, previously living in a crowded shelter, and at the Bad Cat Cafe & Rescue they realised quickly that Bella wasn’t the type to thrive in the cafe environment, so she was looked after elsewhere before she came home to us. The team at the Cafe worked with us to be able to visit Bella beforehand, in an accessible space for us. They made sure we were right for her too! They did a home visit to make sure that our space would be safe and secure for Bella, and have given us support and check in even after she came home. It’s so clear and so evident that the team care deeply for all of the cats in their care. I can’t thank them enough for all they do for all the cats who come through their doors, but especially for bringing Bella...

The best cat café in Newcastle, hands down! The Bad Cat Café has a lovely calm environment and welcomes all ages, they also have quiet hours for people with autism/learning difficulties etc. There is a fantastic selection of drinks and light bites with great pricing! The owners, Roxy and Tasmin, work hard and do so much for the cats to ensure they are happy and healthy, as well as making sure the customers are well looked after! All the cats are rescues and they all go up for adoption once they are ready! There is an adoption process to guarantee the cats are going to the most suitable home possible for them, and they are all rehomed as indoor only, for their safety. It's a great business which is very beneficial for both the cats and the customers. There is even a private office for the more anxious cats to hang out in. Wonderful little café to chill out for an hour or two and meet some adorable feline friends, can't recommend this...
