We came to the the crown inn celebrate my mother in laws birthday and unfortunately we left disappointed after the shocking service we received. We allowed for a few errors as you could clearly see they were busy. We had our main with a few issues, but nothing to make a fuss out off. We ordered our puddings and this is were it took a nose dive south. 2 Apple and mulled wine crumbles were ordered yet we received 2 summer fruits crumbled with no explanation. When the waitress what they were she explained and said that we should have been informed whilst ordering our food. 1 person likes their crumble the other didn't and so we asked for a refund. After waiting for about 10 minutes we go up to the bar and ask again about the refund. One of the young girls came up and said we aren't getting one as the pudding was eaten. When we explained it wasn't eaten and asked them to bring out the bowl out. Please keep in mind this is a £3 pudding and it's not about the money it's the principal that we ordered one thing and given another with no explanations or apology then when asked for a refund were refused. It's a shame and it ruined the birthday...

Read moreFirstly I must say that I think the pub is a great place to drink having visited it many times over the last couple of years with my partner. Based on this we decide to have an evening meal choosing from the main menu traditional fish and chips with a slice of lemon and side salad. What a disappointment not at all as described in the menu. No side salad or slice of lemon for either of us, just a handful of deep fried frozen chips and a small over cooked deep fried frozen fish with a blob of peas. Not a single fresh item on the plate. Very poor quality badly pressnted catering food, not at all l what we were expecting. We're going to give it one more chance in the next couple of weeks and try one of the specials. I really hope that our experience was a one off and the food is of...
