Wow, this place is amazing. This is a hidden gem , ever so quirky with great food at a fantastic price. The Sunday roast dinner is value for money and is amazing the best I have had in years. Well done to the owner for making it such a lovely experience, the staff are amazing and location is really tranquil. We enjoyed our Sunday dinner so much we went back the next few days, the curry night was brilliant and the steaks, mixed grill are awesome. You have to check this place out if you are in the area.

Great little pub tucked away behind Cavendish Bridge. Small and cosy interior with local interesting articles on walls etc. Good selection of ales, lagers and ciders. Fabulous large garden and outside seating areas. Oh yes- and chickens, lots of chickens !! Huge poultry enclosure with dozens of chickens (and a few ducks!) to watch going about their business...we loved it !!

Nice historic pub with a good bit of character. A few ales on, about four or five. Large outside area with a garden and decking. Swings etc to keep smaller children happy.Keeps hens and owls. Does food . Plenty on during week and weekend. Live music outside in the summer. Presumably does overnights but definitely phone ahead. Short drive off main road. Recommended. 🍻 🥚 🦉

We came to the the crown inn celebrate my mother in laws birthday and unfortunately we left disappointed after the shocking service we received. We allowed for a few errors as you could clearly see they were busy. We had our main with a few issues, but nothing to make a fuss out off. We ordered our puddings and this is were it took a nose dive south. 2 Apple and mulled wine crumbles were ordered yet we received 2 summer fruits crumbled with no explanation. When the waitress what they were she explained and said that we should have been informed whilst ordering our food. 1 person likes their crumble the other didn't and so we asked for a refund. After waiting for about 10 minutes we go up to the bar and ask again about the refund. One of the young girls came up and said we aren't getting one as the pudding was eaten. When we explained it wasn't eaten and asked them to bring out the bowl out. Please keep in mind this is a £3 pudding and it's not about the money it's the principal that we ordered one thing and given another with no explanations or apology then when asked for a refund were refused. It's a shame and it ruined the birthday...

If you're looking for a hidden gem to satisfy your appetite, look no further than the Old Crown Inn in Shardlow. This charming pub may be off the beaten track, but it's well worth the journey. Its old-world character and exceptional food make it a standout among other establishments.

One of the things that sets the Old Crown Inn apart is the generous portion sizes. You'll be pleasantly surprised at how much food you get for the price - which is very reasonable. And speaking of prices, they're quite low compared to other places in the area.

But it's not just the food that makes this pub special. The atmosphere is always lively, thanks to the presence of a few local characters who frequent the place. It's also dog-friendly, so you can bring your furry friend along for the ride.

The Old Crown Inn is set in beautiful surroundings, making it an ideal stop-off point for ramblers or dog walkers. There's car parking available both at the front and rear of the pub, so you won't have to worry about...

Firstly I must say that I think the pub is a great place to drink having visited it many times over the last couple of years with my partner. Based on this we decide to have an evening meal choosing from the main menu traditional fish and chips with a slice of lemon and side salad. What a disappointment not at all as described in the menu. No side salad or slice of lemon for either of us, just a handful of deep fried frozen chips and a small over cooked deep fried frozen fish with a blob of peas. Not a single fresh item on the plate. Very poor quality badly pressnted catering food, not at all l what we were expecting. We're going to give it one more chance in the next couple of weeks and try one of the specials. I really hope that our experience was a one off and the food is of...
