Been coming here for years, mainly for takeaways, but ocaasionally for meals. Tend to have a curry once a week, so a reasonably frequent customer. Tried to book a meal for my family for my wife's birthday this evening and was told I could not bring my children as they were under 10 years old and that did not satisfy their Covid risk assessment. WOW, absolutely astonished! The chap told me they had to stick to the rules, when I asked him to clarify the reasoning behind the decision he was unable to. Not aware of any official rules staying youngsters could not attend a restaurant, is this age discrimination? In addition since Covid, they are still forcing takeaway collections to be done out of a restaurant window, leaving people in the cold and the rain and not considering customers directly opposite the window who have collectors staring in at them in the collection queue. They have no answer phone so when I called on a Monday to try anbook for my wife's birthday meal you can't even leave a voicemail. Also during covid there had been no public communication about when they are open, their social media accounts have been untouched for 7 years - worth considering how modern day customers stay connected to you. Another business who seems hell bent on alienating customers and will be wondering why in a year's time they have next to no income.... đ¤Probably blaming it on covid but not giving any thought to the fact that they caused their own problems. Thanks guys. I'm off to find a new regular curry...
Read moreWent here for a family birthday. Ordered vegetable side dish Palak Paneer. Long wait despite very sparse customer numbers. Dish that arrived resembled Saag Paneer not Palak Paneer. Was told their version was the Kashmiri version and the one I was expecting was the Gujarati version. Explained to the waiter the dish name was misleading. He wasnât having any of it and sent a second person to argue with me. Apparently they call it Palak Paneer and not Saag Paneer âbecause it sounds more exoticâ. Donât come here expecting nice authentic food and you wonât be disappointed. My dish was ÂŁ7.50 on the menu but I was charged ÂŁ13.95 as it was a âmain courseâ but I asked for the one on the menu and there wasnât two prices shown. This is disgusting and they donât even bring the bill to your table, you have to queue up so they can present you with a factually inaccurate hand written bill. I wonât eat here again! There really are much nicer and better value places to spend your money where the staff arenât rude and you donât...
Read moreJust having Christmas lunch here. I had ordered online, 3weeks prior, for a table at 2pm but did not get a response within 24 hours as promised. The following week I called in to confirm the booking to find out that it wasn't !!! They did have a slot at 12 so booked that but had to cancel our Christmas 12am pub meet up. Poppadom and pickles to start, not great. 2 x onion salads and mango pickle accompaniment ?? How about one onion salad + chili sauce + yogurt/mint sauce ? Much better choice. Our chosen main dishes, garlic chilli prawn and tandoori jalfrezi were nice enough but not hot. Disappointing. We were told we had to share a rice and a naan. Had I come on my own I would have got one each for myself. What if my wife didnt like boiled rice and wanted pilau ? A bit Scroogie !! Scrimping on the cheap stuff, rice and naan seems unnecessary at £36 a head. I passed seven waiters on the way to the loo and half the tables were empty....
