Under new management, the navigation inn has had a total refurbishment and now is a delightful new fish restaurant, a breath of fresh air to Shardlow, also amazing fish dishes without having to go to the sea side, with a very varied menu, including lobster dresses crab, sea bass, scollops, there is plenty to choose from also if you don't like fish there are plenty of other options including Sunday roast, which I've heard is a cut above the rest. The new decor is lovely and gives you a feel of the sea side, the staff and chef are very professional and get great pleasure to serve you your chosen dishes, the puddings are very tasty, all in all great value for money, you certainly get what you have paid for and we'll worth a visit, what a great atmosphere lovely for friends and family to meet up.

Had a late lunch today, found a non reserved table , ordered food , it was served very quickly , food was well presented & good value for money , homemade lasagne was tasty & plentiful , served with salad & chips , we also ordered a chili con carne , came with salad & chips , throughly enjoyed our lunch , staff were pleasant & very helpful , checking in on us to ask if we were enjoying our chosen food , even meeting a dear lady I’d not seen in a lot of years unexpectedly as she was just leaving . Would highly recommend this lovely pub & resturant , looking forwards to going back & sitting outside next time, as a great view of the barges on the canal .

I went with my daughter to the children's Xmad party. The best children's party I have been too. The Entertainment was fantastic. The proprietors were very welcoming and the locals provided the food for the children. Couldn't fault the premises and worth a visit.

It's a lovely pub in a lovely area with great atmosphere and a brilliant beer garden in the sun. Unfortunately my gripe is with a misunderstanding with a table booking (we expressed our disappointment on the day). We booked a table for 7.30pm on a Sat evening, arrived at 7.15 and let the staff know that we're here and would like to have a drink in the beer garden first, which was no problem. We came in to be seated at 7.45 and given menus by a friendly member of staff, looked at our menus and went up to the bar to order. It wasn't particularly busy but service was really slow, the staff were mostly young and perhaps in training so waited patiently. We went to place our order to be told that the kitchen closed at 8pm.... This was very disappointing, if we'd been made aware of this on arrival we wouldn't have sat outside, and surely staff could have warned us about kitchen closure if we were cutting it so finely. We were looking forwards to the food on the menu and we were a group of 6 and planned to spend the evening eating and drinking here, but instead left disappointed to eat...
