Costa Coffee — Restaurant in Northern Ireland

Ordered hot chocolate and latte to take away around 3:30. My wife observed the bespectacled young man preparing the drinks in glasses and not the usual take away mugs. My wife informed him that we had ordered drinks to go. He slapped down the already prepared glass mug full of hot chocolate aggressively onto the counter top, grabbed two take away mugs and slapped them down on the counter in anger. He finished the drinks prep and handed over the drinks in a very surly, unfriendly manner. My wife informed him that the mistake was not of our making. He replied "ok" in a very abrupt manner, making it clear to us that he blamed us entirely for the error and the ensuing extra work. I don't think you could get a more miserable team of people if you tried! Not one member cracked a slight smile, could barely even make eye contact or speak to customers. All staff were the same! No one looked like they wanted to be there. The drinks were all wrong and not what was ordered at the till, which wasn't surprising given the guy taking orders showed no interest in what we were asking for. The woman behind the cake counter stood there as we were trying to guess what a certain cake was, with a face like thunder. Just leaves a pretty rubbish atmosphere. What was supposed to be a seasonal coffee special, was basically a simple latte with a bit of cream ontop, very different to the picture, topped with sauce and Sprinkles....

I have been in many Costa coffee shops but this is 100% the worst Costa coffee shop I've ever visited. The atmosphere at the till was strained and awkward when the trainee barista asked other staff members to make our drinks. When we received our order the latte was weak and watery with little froth and the peach iced tea was just coloured water, absolutely no flavour. The tables were full of dirty dishes and a member of staff went around lifting them without even wiping the crumbs and dirt off the tables. The floors were messy with crumbs and dirty napkins.
