Since the menu changed three months ago, a few of our favourite dishes have disappeared, which is a real shame, plus, the prices have risen again, which makes this place extremely overpriced based on its location situated inside an entertainment venue. We've been coming to Yoko's for 14+ years, even when it was in its previous setting before that was burned to the ground. It was then an 'experience,' albeit a little pricey, it at least felt like a great place to eat. The venue is now starting to feel a lot less personable, along with trifold laminate menus and a stripped-back offering, it's teaming with student workers, some of which just don't give you a positive vibe, and you're constantly left trying to get anyones attention when elements of your order are still on the hotplate. Main courses that typically come with side dishes don't, and those sides are almost the same cost as some local takeaway main dishes nearer to home. Our last visit consisted of a starter, two mains, the side, and two soft drinks, costing nearly £55. As our other preferred dish is no longer available, we tried something different, but our usual cost would have been south of £40. So, with that, we'll be bidding Yoko's a sad farewell and will no longer be ringing its praises with friends and family. Pictured dish: £16.50 (no sides).

We visited Fri 1st July. One major downside to this place is there's no waiting area so for us when our table wasn't ready upon arrival, all you can do is stand outside. Would also be convenient for management to be able to move tables that have overstayed to a bar area. Manager on door was friendly and polite when we entered. Drinks order taken & received promptly. Staff all super friendly, especially our server Hollie-Rose. Absolutely lovely personality. Starters were good. Hot n Spicy soup was amazing. One of our mains was terrible. Wall Ba Seafood Combo. Super bland to the extent it literally had no flavour and the squid was horrible. Like chewing a bouncy ball. All sitting in some kind of hard rice bowl, very unappetising. Hollie dealt with it so well, such a gem. This girl is excellent at what she does! I manage a restaurant and would gladly have Hollie as part of my team. The other Main was a Thai Coconut Prawn & Monkfish type Curry. Far too sweet to the point it was a bit sickening. The decor/setting of the place is lovely, and the ambience is nice. Maybe we unfortunately chose two poor dishes, because a lot of the other reviews are great. We've been to Asia travelling, twice, so we know what to expect in terms of flavours. Unfortunately Yoko didn't deliver on this occasion.

Lovely meal together with family as a takeaway… but had to be called back as they had forgotten to give me some of the order. Also was lacking in rice portions, I think they were forgotten, but meal was delicious. Concerned about the amount of plastic and non-recyclable packaging, this has to change surely as most other places have found recyclable options.

We had a family meal here on a Sunday night - there was 6 of us, and the restaurant while busy when we entered, by the time we ordered there was several empty tables so wasn’t overly busy. The supervisor took our orders and from the get go he was extremely rude, lots of eyerolling and quite simply appeared uninterested. His facial expressions alone made you feel very uncomfortable as if he just didn’t want us to be there. He took our starters order individually first and then went around the table again and took our main course orders. When he walked off I proceeded to follow to inform him I had a shellfish allergy and could he let the chefs know, to which he grunted at and walked away while I was still speaking to him.

A younger staff member then brought my mains out as starters, to which I explained wasn’t how I ordered and the skewers were my main course. The supervisor came back ten minutes later holding the same plate asking was it for mains to which I again clarified (the chicken dish had now been paraded around the whole restaurant). Our mains were served in two batches - the first half of our table were halfway through by the time the rest of the food came - and they never brought my skewers. As I was almost finished my food and still no sign of them I called the same supervisor to tell him they didn’t arrive but to leave it and make sure they weren’t on the bill. As I was trying to explain he just walked away from the table completely ignoring me and not acknowledging anything I was saying. His mannerism was appalling as somebody who is not only a supervisor in the restaurant, but is setting an example for the younger staff below him.

We were celebrating an important birthday and had that much of an unpleasant experience we left before they had even cleared our plates (service for clearing was extremely slow) and didn’t bother asking for a candle in a dessert as the way we were treated god knows what he would’ve said. The young girl at the desk was one of the only nice staff members we encountered, and I did mention his behaviour to her when we were leaving as it truly was uncalled for. However you can’t expect staff to be behaving appropriately to customers when their supervisor is as rude, unaccomodating and uninterested as...

I had a table booked for 6 people, this table was booked 3 days in advance online for a child's Birthday treat. We arrived at the time of our reservation and we were told to sit and wait. I could see a couple of the girls working there trying to figure out where they were going to seat us, they then proceeded to lift a table and carry it to place it at the entrance, I asked if we could be seated somewhere more suitable as the table was squeezed in an area that was a walk way, the girl doing this who I assume was the manager just walked away, after 5 more minutes they then came back over and said they did not know where they where going to seat us. I stated that we had pre booked this table and at the time of booking I had advised it was for a birthday, the girl then said that they just make the tables up as people come in. There was quite a few tables free at this point so I suggested a table that people had just left which had 8 seats. The girl then advised that it was pre booked for someone else, which didn't make much sense as she had literally just told me that they didn't have a table for us which was pre booked in advance? Absolutely apauled by the service, have been to yokos loads of times and had a great experience and food, we travel quiet a bit to get here but after today I doubt we will be back. One...
