As I have stopped here regularly on my trips to my caravan in Castlerock I decided to do so on my trip on 11th August at around 13.00.What a complete joke. We were stopped by a member of staff on the way in and told they did not accept walk ins. I told her that I had been going here for years and never need to book on a Tuesday afternoon before, and pointed out to her that there were very few tables taken in quite a large restruarnt. She then informed me that as they had been very busy they had "run out of food" I wasn't sure if she said this with a straight face as she had a mask on. I told her that I was completely astounded that a restaurant chain had actually claimed to run out of food. She then accused me of being rude and stormed off.I checked for signs in the window stating that no walk ins were excepted, also if the restruarnt was closed there were none. While I was outside quite a number of other customers were also refused entry. As someone who has traveled worldwide this is the first time I have ever heard of a restruarnt running out of food anywhere, and if true must be down to appalling bad management.I have just read the owners reply to this review. Firstly I fully understand his loyality to his staff and would expect nothing less. Before traveling I checked on the company's Facebook page that stated walk ins would be accepted as welI as his window I wish to state once again that we were never rude nor would we be to any of your staff, and dispute bitterly your premise that we spoke over anyone, as a mature senior citizen I can assure him that life is too short to get heated or annoyed over a meal.We were told that you had run out of food with no other explaination given. There were no signs on the window or doors stating that walk ins would be refused admittance.Had there been the case we woud just have accepted this and left.I have no ill feelings whatsover against this great restruarnt or staff as we had used regularly over the past number of years who have supplied great food and service but unfortunetly not in this case.I am glad to hear that the owner will be replying on the other sites I have posted on, as i am a great beliver in listening to both sides of the story. But there is never an excuse for poor treatment...
Read moreI had cheese burger and garlic cubes. The meat in the burger was very obviously just bought in and not home made. It tasted like it was frozen before cooking. That's ok if you're buying from a food trailer on the street but not acceptable in a restaurant, especially at these prices. The garlic cubes were a little better, but again not good enough for a restaurant. The food was served without a single garnish on the plate. My young daughter had chicken goujons, chips and beans from the kids menu. The portion was good and it looked tasty (given the flavour of mine, I looked at hers with envy of I'm honest). I tagged one if the goujons and unfortunately it was overcooked and also lacking in any flavour. The only redeeming thing on the table was her milkshake which was nice (but at £3 for a small child's drink, it would need to be). Given the pressures on everyone's finances at the minute, spending on treats like eating out really needs to provide food better than you could cook yourself. Unfortunately my experience today was significantly worse than anything I could cook myself.
This was definitely the one and only time...
Read moreAs a vegetarian (who has an allergy to chilli), I find it extremely difficult to find anywhere decent to eat out. Me & the fiancé were due a date meal out somewhere and we decided on Hullabaloos last minute. We came for lunch, not realising that they do a £10 lunch menu! The dinner menu for hullabaloos (for the average Joe) is quite pricey, so we were pleasantly surprised to see a £10 lunch menu. The only vegetarian meal on the lunch menu was the veggie burrito, their main menu has a good selection if a burrito is not to your taste though. I was worried about the burrito having chilli, so I asked the waitress if it contained a lot of chilli and told her I have a mild allergy to it. She very kindly went to chat to the chef and she came back and said the chef was willing to make it with no chillies!! I was over the moon! My first ever burrito! And it was AMAZING! It was that filling that I couldn't eat it all!
My family and fiance are all meat eaters and they also find the meals extremely filling and tasty. Portion sizes are large/good size! We haven't a bad...
