Had a friend take me to lidl to help me with messages. Spent £88.00! Some of the hoods were for another house so as usual asked for receipt. Teller said it was on my phone as I had used the lidl plus app....as had often before. I was aware of queue behind me soo went to the car. We got groceries packed away and I limped back to lidl . No queue at the till so I said to the teller could she get me a paper receipt but when she tried she said she couldn't. I asked could a manager so she summoned him via till. Guy came out of office...." what's up?". Neither she nor I spoke....and teller said I needed paper receipt. Can't be done he said cos other customers came thru. Well....what could I say! He didn't appear helpful nor bothered but I just said OK and left store. I have since deleted my lidl plus app. Simply cos my phone was set to NOT have digital receipt but it did. This was at 8.40 this morning. Stoll fuming ! Can still shop there if I choose ....
Read moreLidl is a rival for many of the top supermarkets the variety of food available is good quality one advantage they do have over alot of the other supermarkets are the special prices They do throughout the year on seasonal items so it's worth keeping an out for them when you visit them the staff are very friendly but my only criticism is the tills packing area which is very small even though your supposed to pack your items on the bench in front of the tills nobody ever uses it so they would be better off making a better packing area...

This store is only let down buy the till's, free for all people up different ailses waiting on tills at busy periods and seething rows after queuing for 10min for a new till to open and a random not in the queue to Jump for it. Is 1 line and a number system for free checkout too difficult to implement?
