Burger King — Restaurant in Northern Ireland

Early Sunday afternoon visit whilst shopping in the area, decided we wanted a, quick bite due to time constraints. For a normal outlet I would say it wasn't busy, however for the layout and team ability of this site they were pushed. Layout means you don't quite know where the queue to order is and who's already ordered. It isn't helped by the yellow wet floor signs placed in a line in front of the tills and seating area. As the floor wasn't wet I'm unsure why they were present as the girl maintaining the cleanliness of the seating area was excellent, she never stopped. I got the strong impression that most of the team were new/learning being directed by one person who was also taking drive in orders given they presented as timid and unsure whilst he was clearly more stressed trying to keep a level of order/service. Wait time for the food was reasonable and temp of food OK. Chips were hot, burgers look warm. Whilst I accept there is a cost of living increase value for money is very poor, two large meals, came to under £20 which a large chip being anything but large. The seating area was clean and furniture relatively new however the toilets are the opposite being very out of date, years of poor attention to detail showing from the ground in dirt on the white cubicle door and the daddy long legs en wrapped in a cobweb on the floor confirming the floor hadn't been properly cleaned in a while within the bathroom facilities. Not somewhere I'd return anytime soon in it's current state and for the price I wish I'd made time to support smaller local businesses. Compared to other burger Kings its disappointing. Was in the ,Coleraine branch with my grandchildren and husband. I waited patiently in the queue while people in front of me were served. When my turn came a pleasant female member of staff started serving me. I ordered chicken nuggets and. Chicken royale . I then ordered king fries and the server was describing my options when a male person came over , sent her away. He was rude and aggressive from the get go. He demanded to know what fries I wanted, I explained that the young lady had just started to tell me my options, He asked me if I had problem , then reluctantly give me the options .I chose then asked for drinks.I was snapped at again , at the end I asked if he could run over the order, as I was confused as to exactly I had ordered and what I had not. He snapped asked if I had a problem ,adding that he did not like my attitude. At this point on the verge of tears, I pointed out that most of the attitude was coming from his side of the counter, also that I was not the person serving the customers and cancelled the order. I use the outlet fairly regularly and have never been treated that way before. Perhaps I was not going quickly enough for him , having the giving of my order stopped and then restarted with another person caused me to loose my train of thought and caused confusion. I will certainly not frequent that branch again . I cannot think what it is about me that he took so instantly against. This particular fast food restaurant has been dying a slow death for a long time! You never know if it's going to be opened, sometimes it is, sometimes it's not! The Drive through is sometimes open and other times only the restaurant itself is open! No one actually tells you, your just ignored! Service is pitifully slow & you don't get a sorry or a Thank you, just a grunt if your lucky! I gave this place 2 stars only because they do a great burger but you either have to wait an age to be served or not at all! Ordered a meal today, no condiments, no napkins included, it really is a crap outlet! Today's visit was the last straw, the Drive through was closed and after waiting a ridiculous amount of time to be served, I just walked! There is a very good reason why McDonald's just up the road is jam packed and Burger King Coleraine is pretty much empty! It's a poorly run store, less than pleasant staff, not enough staff, unreliable opening hours, the list goes on! Either get someone who knows what they are doing & who can turn this place into a going concern or...
