Sizzlin Smokehouse — Restaurant in Northern Ireland

Average, middle of the road - nothing wrong with it but nothing exciting about it. It was £60 for one starter, 2 mains , one dessert and 2 sparkling waters.

Starter - smoky spicy king prawn - nothing smoky or spicy about either. It was really weird - a creamy liquid , king prawns were fine but no flavour. And randomly some rice thrown in 😂🥴 5/10.

Mains - king prawn and chorizo linguine - lovely but had no chorizo at all. 7.5/10 Beer battered cod and chips - very generous portion and chips were really good. 8/10.

Dessert - sizzlin sundae / 3 flavours of ice cream you would literally buy in Iceland or home bargains. Fake strawberry ice cream. A bit of sauce and squirty cream. Very poor . Like something you’d give a child 15 years ago in a restaurant . 3/10.

Staff were lovely but the lighting is far too bright in here and no privacy at all. They only have one beer on draft.

Visited Saturday week ago. I'm vegetarian and only 2 options on the menu main courses neither of which I liked. I decided to go for the brie starter with chunky chips and my husband had burger and skinny fries. We put in our order and there were only 2 other tables of customers. One male staff member stood on his mobile the whole time we were in. The food came fast enough and when I cut my brie I found that it was still frozen in the middle and the chips which were far too chunky weren't cooked. Totally put me off my food,I mean neither were complicated cooking. My husbands burger was dry and tasteless but edible. I called the server over and explained and she offered me something else but I didn't take anything as there was nothing else I would eat. So my husband ate quickly and we left. The food was delicious and the portions large. Really enjoyed the chicken curry and the roast beef was tender and tasty. The servers are very efficient and super friendly. It's quite a large interior with lots of table space and nice decor. We ate from the early bird menu, the food was pure magic and cheap as chips. Two cracking ,tasty meals for 25 quid, now that's a brilliant deal. Right on the main street this sizzlin smokehouse is smoking hot , tasty burger good .
