Horrible experience. I placed an order for delivery via the restaurant's app and an hour and a half later it still hadn't arrived. As I ordered a single pizza, the time seems excessive. I tried to call and query the delay but ended up with 25 minutes worth of a busy tone. Checked on Google and it says the place was (by that time) closed. I checked my bank account to see if money had been taken and it was. Not only was it taken but it was more than what their app said it would be! As I was writing this review my pizza finally arrived. I questioned the charge and the driver seemed confused but said it was a Just Eat service charge. I said I had ordered via their own app and he shrugged. I will be phoning tomorrow to demand my money back as the driver said they can't get back to me tonight and I will never order from there again. The food is not good enough for this kind of service. Appalling. P. S. The pizza was at best luke warm. Had to reheat it in the oven. Extremely disappointed.
3 months down the line I decided to try again because my daughter wanted chicken goujons. An hour and 10 minutes after placing an order via the app and receiving confirmation via email and having money taken out of my account the order still hadn't arrived so I phoned in. I spoke to 3 different people who told me my order was not accepted. Because they have to accept it, you see, for it to be made. Nevermind that I had confirmation and that they were quick to take money. The manager asked I send him a screenshot of the confirmation email in order to get a refund and to also provide him with my card details because he didn't know how else to refund me. When I asked how to put in a complaint he told me its the app that's at fault and he just manages the place and it happens to lots of people. When I suggested that maybe they should place a warning or, you know, not send order confirmations until they sort their app out, he brushed me off. A half arsed apology and when I told him they've definitely lost me and everyone I remember to tell as a customer I got a 'no worries' as a response. Estimated delivery 40 minutes...40 minutes came and went. At 50 minutes we phoned Captains Table. The girl advised it was out for delivery and to ring back in 15 minutes if not received....15 minutes came and went. We phoned Captains Table again and spoke again to a girl who suggested it might have gone to wrong house, she also suggested that manager had taken docket and could not explain what had happened. We explained we had been waiting for over an hour. She put through a fresh order which she stated would be with us in 10 minutes. Once again 20 minutes passed no delivery. Then a knock on the door. We explained that we had been waiting well over an hour recognising he was only the driver. We checked price with him....still being charged £17.20...looked in bag and fish supper and mushrooms nothing extra for THEIR mistake not even a discount. With such poor customer service I declined the order and thought it best to keep my money. I was disappointed as i have supported the Captains Table through lockdown period and in current financial climate. However the Captains Table did not manage this poor service experience and did nothing to maintain me as a customer. They obviously do not have business acumen on how important it is to maintain customers. The service has to be as good as the food and unfortunately it was very poor on this occasion so I will not be rushing back to Captains Table Glengormley and unfortunately cannot recommend to family and friends. Food is always top notch and that's no surprise the place has been running longer than I've been born so they no there trade, but my reason for writing this is the level of professionalism from the staff. They maybe young but there switched on, polite and run like a Swiss watch. For example on Friday night my pizza was 10 mins late, I didn't mind I was watching, daydreaming taking in the open kitchen at work and to be frank I would rather have a fresh pizza than a premade one. The staff noticed I'd been waiting and spoke to me 3 times during my wait assuring me all was well and apologised, before my pizza came out I was offer any 2 drinks from the fridge which I gleefully accepted.
