Good Food - Terrible Service!!

As loyal customers for over 3 years I have lost count to the amount of trade my family and friends have brought to the Indian Ocean BUT within the last 3-6 months their services has fallen horribly.

The biggest problem lies with their take-away service which falls on the hands of the person taking the order and then the management for not dealing with the problem.

On multiple occasions our order has been incorrect and living 15 mins away is dissatisfying when sitting at home to discover food items missing or wrongly placed. in calling the manager I was shocked to lean that we were being blamed for ordering incorrectly!!! On a previous occasion when returning the food we received an apology then prior to that we were offered a complimentary Naan Bread for the inconvenience caused. Hence Indian Ocean do NOT arrange delivery even when they are at fault so be aware that from time to time family/friends might have to sit for a while when you are off to resolve their mess.

Loyalty obviously means nothing to these people but thankfully we have taken our businesses to better Indian restaurants who appreciate customers and their business.

Word of advice though, improve your services or you may end up having to close your doors sooner...

I phoned an order into this restaurant at 6.45pm and was surprised to discover that at 7.15pm, when I went to collect it, it was not ready. I was told that it would be ready soon and to take a seat. Actually what had happened was that someone had been given my meal by accident, had taken it home with them, opened it, discovered it was not theirs and the restaurant were waiting for them to bring it back. It was returned at 7.35pm. I watched the customer walk into the restaurant - he returned my order and was given his own meal plus an apology and walked back out. The receptionist then called out my name and handed me the cold meal which had been half way around Newtownabbey, expecting me to take it! I checked the meal to discover that clearly it had been opened also. After a bit of complaining they said they would prepare a fresh meal. The returned meal, however, was taken into the kitchen and miraculously within 5 minutes 2 completely fresh meals were handed to me. Clearly the returned, cold and opened food had been reheated. This place boasts a 5 star food and hygiene award. I...

One of our favourite places to eat. It does sit in and take away and would have a few locations around Belfast. All are good. The lunch is 12 to 1.45 pm Monday to Saturday and includes 2 courses from the menu for £7.95, kids are £5.95 which is a children's meal. Great value - as ever you may add in a few beers and extras like naan bread, etc which are of course extras. The take away is busy.always!! A good sign. I have not met anyone who does not like this place, but seen a review here that was not great. Personally it would be our 1st stop. You can see into the kitchen. Plenty of seats, decent service. The gent in Glengormley-we have seen him there over the 10 years we have been going there. We go for any special occasion, have not had take away for ages.
