The Cheeky Cherub — Restaurant in Northern Ireland

The 1st time I went here i had a great time, the staff were lovely and the food was great (baked potato with bacon and chicken) so good , and a great price. But wait.... On my second visit, I was first met with a very unpleasant member of staff cleaning tables, she advised me where to sit , and I had a spot in mind that I assumed was fine , but she insisted that i sat at her choice .. I did not as it was cramped and I didnt feel comfortable - and of course Im the paying customer (I was polite and didnt make a fuss)

This is where it went wrong or so it seemed, as from here on out , I felt like i was an ememy of the establishment,

Gave me the wrong drink, no sauce for my food, and was left sitting for 30 minutes waiting on service ( I got 0 cake today) after the waitress had just cleared a table close to me , well aware of my existence.

Was it because of my accent? 😬 Was it because of my choice of seating?😬

Idk but what I do know is that they will get 1 more chance to do better, and I will be updating my review very soon.

And I dont have to tell you that second chances are rare , when made to feel so UNWANTED as I tap my bank card to pay like the fool I must be .

No Service 3rd time in this establishement. First 2 times service and food was fine, but very dissapointing visit on the 26th Sept 2023. I was just back from some work visits and needed a bite of lunch and a well needed sit down. I passed so many places where I could have stopped for something, but I waited until back in Glengormley and stopped at the Cheeky Cherub. I parked up, went in and sat down. Did not seem overly busy downstairs but seemed liked a good few upstairs. Well I waited and I waited and the staff walked passed me, and they walked passed again and again and at least 3 moree times. Now, I am not hard to miss, thats for sure, so I could not see why they could not at least make a comment and advise someone would be with you soon or hand me a menu. No, I still waited and they kept walking past, around 10 mins (which is well more than enough) I got up and walked out. Now that is what I call a poor customer service and dissapointing visit.

Thanks to the owner for replying. That shows they take time to read reviews and comment on same. Yes, agree that can happen so will call in again as no issue...

I started going to the Cheeky Cherub when I first moved to the area. I was on maternity leave, and my older kids had clubs at the school down the road, so I had an hour to kill twice a week. I would go to the Cherub and get a drink. The food was priced reasonably, the girls very friendly and welcoming, and the service quick. I did this for months.

At the end of the school term, I would take my kids in to get cake as a treat, and they are consistently gorgeous. My personal favourite is the apple pie or the banoffee cheesecake. My kids adore the chocolate fudge.

These days, I don't often get the chance to stop in as regularly as we used to. But when we do, the girls always recognise us, the kids are excited to spend some time and, of course, cake.

I've taken visiting relatives, the husband for lunch, stolen a few hours to get work done alone, and my experience has always been pleasant and refreshing.

A worth it stop should you pass through...
