The Food House — Restaurant in Northern Ireland

I’m really shocked at the gatekeeper at the door. Keeping us out in the cold to wait, with a toddler when there was plenty of room inside. 3 seats by both windows were empty. Also, having people who order takeaway outside to wait, but then a guy with 2 kids walks in and orders and is allowed to stay in and wait for his food with his kids, at one of the empty seats by the window. Then seating people ahead of us, because they are 2, and we are 3, when it would be easy for us to fit our toddler at a table for 2. Get someone on your door who is consistent at what the “rules” are. And also, her telling everyone 15 mins but then admitting she’d hasn’t a clue how long it’s going to be and that she’s just estimating because it depends on how much the table orders. I placed an online order to pick up at the restaurant. The sign outside clearly states that you have to wait outside for both sit-in and takeaway until you're called in. My order was meant to be ready for pickup between 13:45 and 14:00. I waited outside in the cold for 10 minutes, then told one of the staff members that I was there for a takeaway, not for dining in. I was then allowed to come inside. I waited inside for another 15 minutes and asked one of the girls about my order. She acted like she didn’t know what I was talking about and giggled with other staff members. Then she went to the kitchen to ask about my order. Finally, I was given a bag with my food.

The food was nice, so no complaints there, but the chaotic atmosphere makes you think about going elsewhere for lunch. This place needs floor manager more...

This was a first time visit for me and it certainly won't, God willing, be the last. The young person who served us was so pleasant and even though it was close to closing time, she was really considerate and nothing was too much trouble. Every table was spotless and the floor was just as clean; these young people have obviously been well trained and know how important cleanliness is to maintain. But the best was yet to come; the food! I ordered the steak sandwich, £15 I think, it was the best value I've had in a long time, in fact I cannot recall having a better one. Everthing was absolutely brilliant! What about the atmosphere, I hear you ask; well it was near closing time but I'm sure during peak time this place is buzzing. I have no, none, zilch complaints, only lots of praise and I wish you guys...
