AVOID!! I would categorically AVOID this place especially if your an outsider/ tourist/ new to Derry, as the 2 men here have no respect, no manners or know how to maturely behave. these 2 men the chef and the owner with no reason or provocation to be rude and shout in hostile and intimidating manner. Shocking experience. Be it as I read and what got me to come here reading the reviews of the nice food they may be arrogant and not care complacent with his business to behave so rude. By law one has right to know to politely ask a reasonable request for peace of mind and assurance what food they claim to be and see the food is being prepared. The owner here clearly feels has no right to do this and on top of this with obtuse arrogance very hostile no civil manners. Very barbarian. No problem. I'll write this review then. Let others know. Karma will come to the owner.
Update: Very rude men work and own this place here. No manners. Both shout with no customer service manners to non locals not just myself I have come to my attention and witnessed first hand How to trust such people to make your food? Best to be safe and go to another place. Be that as it may I see locals are treated differently with reverence and I heard great things about their food. However firstly sadly and clearly bias and prejudice to tourists...
Read moreHello guys I have to admit I am a bit of a kebab enthusiast as well as tackling many eating competitions throughout the United Kingdom and parts of Europe and a recent champion of benidorms biggest burger challenge.
So with that in mind I have been staying in derry for a few weeks now decided to make zoras my local after tasting one of their delicious kebabs and have visited zora almost every day since the staff are extremely friendly and we are on a first name basis already.
Service is quick and the kebabs are prepared extremely well with a great combination of sauces and a rather generous helping of donor meat I almost always get my king-size donor on chips which is very good value for money as along with the portion of meat the chips are piled up high and very delicious cuts of potato.
The meat it's self is tender and tastes like its straight of the gyro which is refreshing due to some kebab shops nearby that offer only dried out meat that's been sitting on a hotplate or left to sit in its own moisture in a a tray.
Overall I give the experience I had multiple times at zora five stars and I honestly think if your in derry and wsnt a kebab this Is the place to be and that's coming from some one who has been eating kebabs consecutively since I was a kid so I am a little bit of a self confessed...
Read moreOrdered a kebab and a bag of chips. Kebab was good, chips were awful. Looked like and tasted like they had been fried a fair few times. Dark dark brown in colour and just tasted of cooking oil. Should not have been served to a customer. The whole bag of chips were thrown in the bin. Wholly unacceptable. For the prices Zora's charge the customer expects at the very least decent food. On a different matter, they are also charging for a paper bag and then applying a service charge even when paying with cash?...
