Our daughter, who is at university in Norwich, and previously visited a few months ago and recommended Moorish, taking us to lunch there when we visited. Unfortunately it was a disappointing experience for all of us. The staff were not very engaging and seemed distant, one of our orders was incorrect (it was corrected, but impacted on the dining experience) the jackfruit burger was very oily which soaked into the bun base making it uneatable. The Mediterranean salad wrap seemed to be mainly coleslaw with a few olives, and I struggled to find any aubergine in mine Also it was very wet leaving a "puddle" on my plate just missing my shirt. The side order of skin on fries was nothing special, and came with a number of burnt offerings which obviously were remnants of food left in the oil. I appreciate times are hard for small businesses and adjustments have to be made but unfortunately we will not be returning as there are numerous other places in Norwich offering a better experience /...
Read moreI'm really pleased to be able to revise my previous review! The menu has been expanded again beyond just falafel, and the food is delicious. It will once again become a staple! Thank you 😊
[Previous review: Used to be 5 stars, but they've totally stripped out the menu and only do the falafel items now. Such a shame. Used to be somewhere I'd take a trip to visit specially, and while the falafels are fine, it's no longer worth going out of your way for.
Edited following the owner's response to add: I had read the notice before giving this review, and while I am sympathetic to the owners on their rising prices, disposable income for customers is also falling so that eating out is more of a treat. Therefore people like me are much more likely to pass up the much more limited and less delicious menu now on offer. While the reasons for the change are understandable, customers are still likely to go elsewhere as a result, and snarky responses from the owner will not...
Read moreWith no actual competiton in Norwich, Moorish can get away with charging £6.50 for a falafel wrap. It would be somewhat justifiable if the wraps were phenomenal, but they're just OK-ish. Those of you who have tried proper falafel wraps would know what I mean. I've been their customer several times, until my last experience...
On my last visit I ordered two falafels, one with extra sauce, for which I was charged £0.75! Which is scandalous on top of the overpriced wrap, to say the least... I challenged the lady making the falafels how come I am charged £0.75 for an extra sauce and how is this reasonable and justified. To which she responded that it's a lot of sauce hence needing to charge me that, which honestly, insulted my intelligence!!! £0.75 for an extra squirt of garlic and chily sauce...you must be kidding me!
Places like this either deserve to go out of business or need a healthy competition to correct their attitude and quality of...
