When we chose Saporita as the venue in which we celebrated our small wedding, we were expecting delicious Italian food. What we received was so much more—a truly unforgettable evening, filled with love, laughter and incredible food, provided by a wonderful family. Saporita is more than just a restaurant; it’s a haven for anyone who wants to sample real Italian cuisine with a twist. While they serve outstanding pizza, what really sets Saporita apart from the rest is the wide array of mouthwatering dishes that showcase the depth and diversity of Italian cooking. Mama is honestly a genius, one of the highlights of our celebration was the fact that they crafted an entirely vegetarian menu for us, whilst also accommodating every single dietary need we threw at them with remarkable ease and attention to detail. Over the course of the evening, Mama catered not only for vegetarians but vegans, a celiac and someone with a nut allergy, making every member of our party feel cared for and included. Throughout the evening, we were treated to a seemingly endless parade of delectable dishes, each morsel more delicious than the last, we were made to feel like we were a part of the family, and no request was too much, Veronica and the entire team were exceptionally warm, personal, and attentive without being intrusive. Our wedding celebration at Saporita was nothing short of perfect. It was intimate, joyous, and filled with love—a true reflection of the restaurant’s spirit. If you’re looking for an authentic Italian family experience, whether for a special occasion or just a memorable meal, we can’t recommend Saporita highly enough. They helped to make our wedding day everything we could have dreamed of and more, and I’m sure they’ll do the same for anyone who walks through their doors. (Honourable mentions from the menu include: the Panzerotti, the Taglieri – wow, just wow, and the...

This place looks fantastic inside and out, really authentic and Italian with nice little innocent touches like the faux windows and lighting and food hanging from ceiling etc, staff are super friendly. I really thought I’d be in for a treat. The pizza is quite expensive at £20 odd which was my first red flag (but hey If it’s good pizza then no big deal): Then the food came out which consisted of Focaccio bread with some smeared tomato paste and a bit of mozzarella cheese on top. I’ve had cheese on toast that tastes better than this. This is up there with worst pizza I’ve ever had. They are clearly counting on the English reserve and tourists (or just the British not knowing awful pizza unless the surroundings are a kebab shop)….I can’t imagine a lot of repeat customers with this con (amazing that places like this stay in business and I can’t see this one lasting if they don’t up their game). I’m fairly certain the staff knew this pizza is cheap and terrible and all about presentation as they were all Italian. You’d be laughed out the country serving pizza like this over there. Luke warm with some tasteless mozzarella cheese sprinkled on top. Don’t be fooled by this scam (it’s all about appearance and is skin deep). I asked for a full refund. They gave it to me but not without a bit of attitude….I recommend Donnelli's which is half the price with much better food (atmosphere and service there is not quite as good as this place but the no nonsense approach and food wins). Every Italian on here has given this place a bad...

I’m genuinely puzzled by the high ratings and glowing reviews for this place. I visited with good faith, expecting the quality of the pizza and food to match the praise, but unfortunately, my experience was far from that.

To be completely honest, I was shocked by how disappointing the pizza was. The base felt like a low quality, bready substitute, reminiscent of a frozen Aldi deep pan pizza, which, ironically, I would rate higher. The toppings were bland and uninspired, with barely any flavor. It’s almost impressive how little taste was extracted from otherwise basic ingredients.

The service was equally perplexing. From my own experience and observing other customers around me, the waiting staff appeared indifferent, almost inconvenienced by the act of serving customers. It was an odd and uncomfortable vibe.

As for the atmosphere, it was hard to settle in. There was a steady flow of Deliveroo and Just Eat couriers coming in and out, which detracted from the dining experience. While I understand the need for takeaway orders to keep the business running, it did impact the ambiance significantly.

If you’re considering visiting, I’d recommend reading this review and approaching with realistic expectations. You might enjoy a more frozen-style thicker base and bland-topping pizza, but it wasn’t for me.

To the restaurant: I hope this feedback is taken constructively. Improvement comes from listening to honest reviews, and I genuinely wish you success in one day offering a better...

What a great find! Small family run Italian restaurant with a fantastic selection of pizzas and a range of other dishes. Generous portions, fresh ingredients, all delicious! The pizzas are ordered in slices which are one quarter of a 16" pizza. You can order a whole 16", although I'd only recommend that if you are very hungry or are going to share. Service was excellent and a very warm and friendly atmosphere. Prices were good for the quantity and quality of food on offer. The restaurant is quite small so it's probably a good idea to book ahead. You can takeaway as well. Saporita feels like the kind of place the locals would eat in if it was transplanted into an Italian town or village.

Genuinely reminiscent of places in Italy we have visited. Small, unpretentious, with authentic Italian food and drinks, served with warm and helpful unrushed service. Good sized loo room, soap, drying facilities and WC all stocked and in working order. Great prices, fresh ingredients, cosy and you know it is good when it is full of Italian clientele! You can buy your pecorino, amaretti, spaghetti and all sorts in here, for very sensible prices, so you can take that gorgeous flavour home with you after your meal. Gluten free and vegan options available, as well as really great tshirts for only £3 each! Will be returning with friends and family soon.

We visited Saporita today with my husband and our dog and were so impressed! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff were lovely — especially the girl who served us, who had a great smile and looked genuinely happy to be there. We each had a delicious panini — the Bologna panini was especially fresh and packed with flavour. Each one came with a small side salad and fries, which made for a really satisfying meal. We also picked up a lemon tart and some Italian biscuits to take home — both were fresh and full of authentic flavour. A fantastic spot for a casual, high-quality bite.
