Terrible and rude service, We booked this table WEEKS in advance and called every single week to check that we were still booked in to which they said yes, got there on time for our booking which was 7pm only to be told that they had double booked which meant we had to wait for a table to come up, we were waiting 30 minutes just to sit down and we asked if we could get a complimentary drink since we had been mucked about so much. To which the waiter told us âif we donât like it we can just leaveâ and showed no sympathy for the fact that it was a birthday party for my colleague which had been ruined by the error on their part. We received no apology and the service for getting drinks and food was awful, after sitting down at half 7 we were waiting another half an hour just to order drinks and we asked if we could do food at the same time but they ignored us and walked off - we finally got to order food at 8 (only an hour after we were supposed to have sat down) which didnât start to arrive until quarter to 9 and we were supposed to be at a bar at 9 that we had booked out so a few of us had to abandon our meals just to get to the bar so that they wouldnât charge us for not showing up. Food was ok, tasty but nothing to scream about - certainly not worth the wait, and as for the bill we got so fed up of waiting patiently and waving our hands that we had to go up to the man who was calculating everything and ask him for the bill which took an age in itself. I placed a takeaway order last night through their website at 6.15pm with a delivery time of 6.50. At 7.20pm I tried phoning the restaurant over and over again but no one would pick up. Eventually after 20+ attempts someone picked up and rather oddly told me to call a different number, which I declined. I politely queried about my order but was told they never received it because quote "the machine was broken" and they had no intention of fulfilling the order whatsoever. They were however happy to take payment for it and continue to allow online orders to be made. I was told they were aware of the issue for a few days (no doubt longer) yet had done absolutely nothing to rectify it of to prevent customers from making online orders through their website. They were not apologetic in the slightest and were incredibly rude throughout. I was told I'd get a refund tomorrow and also told it would happen some time next week. Needless to say I'd lost any and all faith in what they were telling me at this point and I don't expect it...

(False) I can only suggest this may have been an UberEats fault, as our home is a new build so may not have populated. However regardless, we have ordered several times from this restaurant on the same account to the same address before. Upon calling the store, I was absolutely horrified by the attitude of the staff member who refused to give me his name and hung up my call. He stated he attempted to ring three times (however no missed calls on either of the devices with numbers listed) he stated he was âtoo busy to deal with it tonightâ and after meeting him with the tone he spoke to me, the staff member simply cleared the line. As a family we have been coming to the spice lounge for the 18 years we have been living in Norwich, itâs clear to see that standards and customer service have slipped since the ownership has changed hands.
