BEST IN NORWICH!! I'm not normally quite so effusive in my praise for dining establishments but I really felt that this new restaurant deserves a big shout out to help spread the word. I visited with my partner on a Sunday evening and it was quiet, apart from a large Indian family. We initially felt slightly trepidatious as the atmosphere was a little flat but the menu looked really interesting, with lots of dishes that were new to us (in particular some amazing sounding fish and prawn curries!) so we got on with ordering. First came a fantastic, well balanced mango lassi and a freshly squeezed lime juice, so refreshing! We then had the starter of the fried battered plantain which was just the right side of sweet. For the mains we ordered two different types of prawn curry. Their taste profiles were slightly different to each other but both were deeply flavoured, coconutty and with the perfect amount of spice....enough to warm the back of your throat but without any harsh burning feel. Alongside these we ordered the coconut rice and a garlic nan to share. The rice portion was huge and had loads of freshly shaved coconut. The nan was thin, fresh and crispy with loads of tasty garlic. Despite never having been to South India I can imagine that this is a very authentic version of the cuisine. It didn't taste 'restauranty', rather homely and nourishing, definitely made with love! I imagine it will be very popular with the local Keralan community in Norwich! Finally the prices are really good. The prawn curries were around £10 each. Other establishments routinely charge closer to £15 for top quality, big prawns as these were. All in all very highly recommended indeed, we are already planning to return with more family...
Read moreWe went with our neighbours, the restaurant was smelling with moist, which can be problematic for people with strong sense of smells. There was only one person to do the service, and everything was dead slow. This makes the experience worse. But the food was good, they had good starters and some main menu dishes. But even when they claim it to be Kerala food, the biriyani had a different taste(it was good for us though) , and it was not the authentic Kerala biriyani. Definitely try their Masala dosa- they are real big and good. I would recommend to visit here without expecting anything Malayali as such, it is an Indian restaurant with some dishes belonging to...
Read moreI visited this restaurant recently, seems like they started this restaurant a week ago. Guy at reception is very warm and welcoming and make sure, I’m seated comfortably and explained about the dishes and checked on me occasionally.
Unfortunately food tastes really bad, I ordered beef with banana fry and Malabar masala dosa. The banana fry tasted good, but there is a raw spice flavour to beef curry & masala dosa felt bland.
I would suggest the owners and chef to try food from other good Indian restaurants in UK. I visited a week after restaurant opening & restaurant was at ramping up phase, hence benefit of doubt and giving...
