DENJ RESTAURANT Northern Persian Cuisine — Restaurant in Nottingham

We came for a meal from Mansfield, saw two popular Persian restaurants on google, chose this one as we didn't want to drive into the city centre, ordered 3 main dishes, 1x Lamb Chicken mixed, 1x Lamb Fillet, 1x the Lamb Stew.

Lamb Skewers are all tough and chewy, definitely not fillet, skirt maybe, worst I have ever had. Wife had the Chicken and Lamb, she give me one of the chicken to try, immediately I spit it out after a couple of chews, as it was with a foul taste, I tried a second piece, less foul taste but still not right.

Asked the waiting staff, he kindly offered to change to a new well done skewer for us. But when the second one brought to us, it was the same, the pieces at the tip of the skewer had very strong and bad foul taste! Again it was not cooked properly.

I cut one piece and asked the staff to try, he refused, and out of genuine feedback, I asked him to go and try the chicken, so he went back to the kitchen, came back telling me they tried another skewer, it was how it should taste, they didn't find anything wrong with it, but they are happy to only just charge for the lamb.

I offered him again to try the Chicken on my plate, clean cut with pink in the middle, He refused to try it. Probably he knows that this will make people sick.

It was our first time visiting this restaurant, and I went with a group of friends. We ordered a variety of starters and main dishes to try different options — and I can confidently say this is the best Persian restaurant I’ve ever been to. The food was absolutely delicious, full of flavour, and beautifully made😋

The staff were all super friendly, kind, and very attentive — they made sure the tables were clean, the service was smooth, and they were extremely polite and patient with us. We were also celebrating my friend’s birthday, and the staff were so helpful and supportive in making everything even more special. We really appreciated it♥️✨

The atmosphere was calm and cozy, with beautiful decor and lovely traditional Persian music playing in the background — it created such a nice vibe🥲

Overall, everything was perfect. We had a wonderful birthday night, even better than I expected! I’m so grateful to the team, and I highly recommend visiting this place if you want to enjoy tasty Persian food in a lovely setting🤩😍
