Staff - unprofessional to the point it causes danger! Which is a shame, because the location of the place is so lovely...
My toddler is allergic to peanuts and hazelnuts, so I always have to be careful and double-check the ingredients. Today, I ordered myself a coffee, raisin swirl and then I asked if their brownies contain nuts. I had to repeat myself 3 times for the unfriendly cashier lady who rudely kept repeating "whaaaaaaat...?" with a bored expression on her face. And then, she just said, without checking the ingredients "yeah, they all contain nuts". I asked which nuts and she just shrugged her arms and said impolitely "all of them". Completely unprofessional. Finally, her colleague came out and kindly offered to check the ingredients. Meanwhile, the rude cashier, who already looked bored and annoyed, told me to pay, which I did, by card, automatically out of habit, without even checking the price. When collecting my coffee and raisin swirl I did, however, asked if I paid for the brownies (which I didn't order because they contain "all of the nuts") and the lady just rolled her eyes, then grabbed some coins from the "tip jar" and nearly threw them at me saying it's a refund. I was taken aback by this complete lack of manners and customer service skills. I don't expect people to be overly cheerful or anything like that, I just want to be treated with mutual respect. From other reviews, I can see that I am not the only person who feels this way about the staff. Maybe it should be addressed by managers and the staff could be trained properly ... There is, however, an absolutely lovely play area inside. My toddler was thrilled to play there. The potential of this place is really good... Except for this particular staff member from today.
I hope this review helps to improve this place a little...
Read moreI had bought a coffee and started studying when the manager essentially kicked me out. It is a shame that something that was meant to be a lovely experience turned sour because I hadn't bought enough "products" to stay. ( I was drinking their coffee and about to get lunch when my friend arrived, clearly the manager has no concept of patience as he didn't even give the chance to buy his food). I was barely there for 2 hours and the cafe had plenty of seating and I am appalled at how unwelcome I was made to feel. The manager said that the seating was for those drinking or dining, which I was doing. However he insisted that I was finished with my drink even though I was not. Clearly he has a dislike for students, when his cafe is situated on a university campus. Quite frankly horrible behaviour and ruined my day. If the manager is reading this remember to treat people with kindness especially when they are a...

Long queue with no apparent menu. There was some type of toasted sandwich which was neither priced or described. So to be fair could have been a bag of bread.
Some simple wins for this place.
Have a full menu at the entrance to the queue, rather than dotted around the food being offered.
Give people waiting for food to be prepared and sitting in a table number , thus keeping the queue moving quicker.
Food was okay to good. Luke warm soup let them down. Baguette was fresh and reasonable , albeit at £4 it should be.
Unsure of other menu items, did see some kind of all day breakfast being served, as there was no menu.
Reasonable but could be better if better organised.
Staff appeared to be working much harder than...
