A proverbial hidden gem that I will visit again and again and recommend 1001%. I didn't even know the restaurant I knew had changed owners and become Saffron till I drove past it and decided straight away I wanted to sample the fare! Friendly, welcoming, well informed Nima fronts an aesthetically presented, clean and comfortable family run restaurant. Mum cooks and Nima is always on hand to offer advice, suggestions and the right amount of attention with what you would expect of Iranian hospitality. The food is temptingly presented and efficiently delivered from an extensive tantalising menu. We ordered saffron grilled chicken wings and lamb shank served with broad bean rice and a delicious yet simple salad of beetroot, tomato, red onion and lettuce in a with an added nan to try. The lamb was succulently soft and delicately flavoured and not oily at all. The nan perfectly crisp yet foldable. We ended the meal with a delcious Iranian black tea redolent with cardamom. Mum's cooking gave the food a real home made feel and Nima's extensive experience in the trade provided that fine dining experience at a fraction of the cost. Just one month in and the restaurant is already building up a loyal appreciative clientele. Don't let the location fool you. It is worth every moment and penny spent there. Real value for money.    Read moreThe food here is spectacular. I lived in Nottingham for 4 years and never knew about this restaurant. We had jooje, koobide, and sultani kebabs, all of which were amazing! The food came quickly, the portion sizes were very generous, and the ingredients were fresh. The sides were also very delicious, we had the zeytoon parvarde and maast-mosir. Fresh bread is baked at the restaurant which came with the sides/mains, and let me tell you, the bread was fantastic. We also had the doogh (yoghurt drink) which was thick and very morish. The service was very very lovely too! Absolutely no complaints, only compliments to the staff & chef đ„°

Read moreI've ordered over the phone to collect it, and I was told the food would be ready in 20 minutes. I said I would be 30 minutes to ensure it's available for me to pick up and go quickly. Nevertheless, I had to wait another 10min upon arrival as there was only 1 person serving people in the restaurant and couldn't deliver my food which apparently was sat in kicthen getting cold. I was then asked to pay in cash which I found the thing of the past, more time wasted on that and after I got the food back ro work I was shocked about the poor quality of kebab which I was embarrassed as a persian to offer to my English friends! Not recommended unless they undergo a full assessment of quality...
