café cchino — Restaurant in Nottingham

Wasn’t going to write a review but my visit to this cafe I left quite disappointed. First visit and going to be the last. I ordered a matcha latte but when it came it tasted extremely sweet. I told the workers that I’m a diabetic and asked if they were sugar in the matcha which they said no it was just the powder. I’ve had matcha for years and never had an issue. The owner said it was a vanilla matcha which is why it was sweet. I never asked for a vanilla matcha latte, just wanted a regular matcha like the menu displayed which never specific it was a vanilla one. I wasn’t convinced because of how sweet the drink was so I asked to see the matcha packaging ingredients, or asked if they could change the drink but the owner said I would have to pay for another drink. Eventually, they shown us the matcha packaging which had sugarcane and glucose syrup in it despite them arguing with us about it. The owner tried to convince us by saying all matcha are sweet and that his matcha is high quality which I never said it wasn’t in the first place. I explained that I didn’t want to spike my blood sugar but he said I should have asked about the drink before ordering. We said the cafe should ask if customers have any allergies but the respond we got was, if he had ask everyone about their allergies they wouldn’t serve more than 3 customers in one day. It was funny because we were the only customers at the till at the time and the cafe wasn’t even half full. I have been to many cafes and never once had matcha that sweet as I am a regular matcha drinker. The only positive was that they change it to a regular latte in the end but at that point the atmosphere was very awkward. Right I’m leaving a review one more time cuz u didn’t understand what I meant. You are horrible and very rude to staff and yeh you can “proof on cctv” that my boyfriend got his money but you treated him so badly first of all and didn’t give him the money when he asked you to and when he came for it you said go and come back at less busy time…. Also for your information he didn’t loose his job he left because you are horrible to ur staff if they are a boy and he was still learning and you kept telling him he can’t work he didn’t have a pervious experience at cafe and he was learning and you would call him stupid and treated him horribly so he left but you’re 40 something year old self flirt with the ur girls staff and u treat them nicely even though they mess orders up I can prove that they mess orders up cuz all my friend that went to ur cafe have complained to me abt it lol. Absolutely disgusted with the service from the owner! Talk about “GREED” for money. I ordered a milkshake for my daughter and she accidentally spilt the whole cup on the table. I asked the staff if I could either get a replacement but I’d go for somehtjng smaller like a cake so it wasn’t a hassle for them to make the milkshake again. She said she would have to check with the owner. The owner came over and said that it wasn’t possible to get any replacement not even for something cheaper as he couldn’t take the milkshake back. He said he could offer me a cake but at a discounted rate, I didn’t take his offer as I was absolutely shocked with his response! He was not prepared to even replace for a 3 year old child! My daughter was absolutely devastated as she was drinking the last bit of shake that was left at the bottom of the cup. ( this cost me £5) Even if he had offered half a cup I would have been happy with that. Won’t ever be going back...
