Latest review - Advised by our waitress that the Thai Tham is now under new management for approx the last week.
Booked a table for myself and my beautiful girl for 7:30. Seated promptly.
Before we go any further, I will add, its Valentine's day and it was pretty full but we've been in before when it's been this full and on several occasions.
Menu bought and left with us, returned after about 10 mins to take the order but at no time were we asked if we would like drinks, we had to request when the food had been ordered, usually you were asked as you sat down. We both ordered large cokes. What was delivered were 2 small bottles when previously we could of had pints for not much more money.
Starter arrived at 8:10, We had the starter to share between us and 3 chicken wings. The starter to share includes 2 flat-ish pieces of chicken on skewers plus a variety of other bits on nicely carved bits of carrot and lettuce, previously this chicken was to die for, tonight it was dry and over cooked, the other bits were ok though. At no time were we asked if the starter was ok.
8:30 starter plates removed plus the unused clean cutlery for some reason???
9:15, that's 45 minutes later and 1 hour 45 minutes since we came in, the main course is delivered to find the red thai king prawn curry I ordered was wrong, they delivered green which I really don't like. This was replaced about 10 mins later but we couldn't eat as they had taken our cutlery and even though we were told we would have clean cutlery to replace the unused still clean cutlery, none was bought to us until we reminded the waitress she had removed it, still not sure why it was taken in the first place?
My partner enjoyed her meal, it was something she hadn't had before so had nothing to compare it too but I always have the same, it's what I like so I realised pretty quickly it had changed, I've had the same meal 5 times under the previous owners. This time wasn't so good, it tasted different, the peppers were missing and the king prawns were chewy which when the meal cost £61 for us both isn't great. Again not once did anyone ask if everything was ok?
Now I'm not gonna throw this in to add to the story but I'm going to tell it anyway and with out bias. I over heard the couple next to us comment it wasn't the same or as good as they had had before and as we were leaving, the 4 people in front of us were having their mains delivered, my partner and I both overheard that another meal had been delivered wrong and the pay cash and get a 10% discount has gone, I usually gave that as the tip.
So in conclusion and to the new owners of the Thai Tham, please tighten the reins before you get a reputation because your restaurant has been a favourite for a while and from what I have read always used to receive top class reports, don't let it slip down hill for everyone's...
Read more[Uber Eats Delivery] Misleading descriptions of food items/dishes on Uber Eats, for example:
"40. Gai Yang £8.95 Half whole chicken marinated in soya sauce, garlic, fresh coriander and thai herbs barbecued over charcoal"
What it actually arrived was a handful chicken strips that seemed like chicken breast, overcooked and dry, no way was there "Half whole chicken" as described, at best was around 150g of meat. When I called the restaurant, the explanation was that in fact there was half a chicken but it was deboned. The side of chips I ordered was slightly burned on the outside and slightly undercooked on the inside, one of the worst "chips" experience I've ever had.
Another example:
"87. White Fish Sam Rod
£9.95
Crispy deep fried white fish top with sweet chilli sauce, basil, onions and peppers"
The fish was breaded strips (deep fried) but there was more batter on the fish than the actual fish and the portion extremely small portion both of protein as well as the side of rice, for a meal that altogether costed over £13. (the sticky rice was good though, but again fairly small portion)
All in all very dissapointing experience: average-low quality, small portions, high end prices and not very helpful...
Read moreWe ordered from Thai Tham last night and unfortunately it will be the last time we order. Ordered via Uber Eats and had it delivered. It was over an hour later than the app had advised which, given that it was a Friday night is completely understandable. However, the food was stone cold. I raised it on messenger with management and was completely ignored. I therefore decided to ring them. The manager was rude and basically accused me of lying. According to him, the food stays cold for over an hour... To which I responded it had clearly sat for over an hour (helps explain the delayed delivery). According to the app it was in transit for at least 45 mins.
Overpriced. Cold food. Rude management....
