BAR: Good Location, Good and Friendly Bar service, good atmosphere with Sports entertainment on multiple TVs, good mix of punters
FOOD: Made by "BAWARCHI" Fast service, Good Starters, however.... really disappointing Curries 😞.
Following on from the starters, the flavour of the curries were slightly underwhelming... but most of all 😞 .... the portions of curries (that cost £9+ each) were very miserly and sub-standard. 6 of us went on a Friday and we all ordered a curry each with rice etc, and despite the SportsBars online Menu photos showing "Pots of curries", what actually arrived were tiny "trays" of curries ... and even these were partially filled (sacrilegious to a curry lover). I have taken doggy bags home that are bigger than these portions of curry!.
You have a good thing going Sports Lounge, but get the food right else people will go back to their regular Bar and Grill in other parts...
Read moreI wanted to eat Desi (traditional), home cooked style Indian food and was at a loss as most of the mixed grill places I go to were closed due to the Lockdown. I heard from my friend Bunty that Sports Lounge was open for collection and delivery so I ordered some food - 1x Paneer Shashlick Kadhai, 1x Garlic Chilli, 2x Naan breads and 1x Chilli Chips. We went to pick the food up and we were impressed with the COVID-19 measures - they didn't allow us to enter the premises and they came out to pass the food (wearing gloves and a mask). We eagerly rushed home and started to devour the food and it was SO good. The taste of both dishes was unique and rich and it just tasted amazing. Both dishes had their own distinct taste and the naan breads helped soak the curry up. The chilli chips were tasty too (although I didn't really NEED them) haha! Keep up the fantastic work,...

First off, you normally start with poppadoms, right? Right. Poppadoms a poppadom, right? Wrong. These were old, stale, wafer thin, chewy, & make your tongue stick to the roof of your mouth kind of bad. The chutneys were average. Nothing I would rush back for. Oh they were also really small!? Just go down the road to the other Indian for some good poppadoms and chutneys.
The chicken tikka and other dish we had were ok, again, nothing that would knock your socks off. But decent. Both the naans were very doughy and heavy. The garlic naan did not have much flavour of garlic, and the keema naan, was not to my personal liking, it was a very thin cheap tasting lamb patty in the naan. I prefer actual mince. That’s just my preference.
The chilli paneer however. Was delicious! I would come back just for this, and then try...
