Visited yesterday lunchtime and my husband bought Curry Goat and dumplings for us. It smelled so good we ate this immediately in the carpark nearby. It's truly happy food. In fact it's that happy that I went in to thank the staff for such a tasty meal and bought more food to bring home.... We ate Brown Stew last night (again this was divine) and we're going to finish with the Jerk Chicken tonight. If the Jerk is as good as the other meals we're certainly in for a treat (I have every confidence it will be and am proper looking forward to devouring it later). Not only has the food been marvellous, but also the staff were so friendly and welcoming, going so far as to securely wrap our second lot of food in boxes and foil when they knew we would be travelling with it. (Threw us in a portion of fried plantain free too - again, this got snaffled in the car - beautiful) Really pleased we've found this gem of a place and we'll most definitely be returning. We live nearly 60 miles away, but this will be a trip worth making! Many thanks to all the staff, we have full tummies and smiles on...
Read moreI stumbled on this delightful treasure by chance. I'm vegan and my friend is a meat eater. I ordered a vegan dish and my friend had chicken. The meal.was stupendous the service was quick and very friendly. The owner chatted with us the other customers were all so happy to get their meal they chatted. It was fantastic. The chicken and curry goat looked and smelled so delicious I was tempted to give up my veganism. Undoubtedly the best Caribbean 👌 eatery in Manchester providing authentic Caribbean food with the British service ( quick and friendly) Oh and can I just mention the dumplins and the Sorrel. Eat and Sweet ditch the takeaway get a resteraunt.😂 I would love at least 1 vegan dish daily that is also authentically Caribbean even if its soup this would be a game changer as more and more people don't eat meat. Ackee and chick pea or callaloo on its own or with ackee . CHICK Pea curry oyster fried mushrooms .....maybe on 1 particular day...
Read moreVery very disappointed. So much so that I had to leave a review. Order plain fried chicken and plain rice only for it to come soaked in what is think was jerk "gravy" with the consistency of water. So this was a waste of money. We Ordered plain for a reason. Coleslaw really is not the greatest, swimming around in too much liquid. Oxtail, semi decent flavour but not exactly authentic flavours and absolutely nothing "real jamaican" about it. again, in very very watery gravy but £14 though. Not even them prices at carnival. Steamed veg was okayish but the still quite hard. Rice and peas 10/10 though! Sorry for the negative feedback but this is really my truth honest opinion. Nearly £40 for that dyam teefin people
Response: i too would like to address them points for your clarification so that you are no longer misunderstood. the order was mine and It was digusting. Your prices are unjustifiable when the food you are...
