My full and honest feedback is as follows. We arrived promptly and were the only patrons on the premises The staff we dealt with were great, absolutely no complaints, well presented, well mannered, attentive and professional
My wife and I ordered a pot of tea for two whilst we awaited our guests
We sat near the food preparation area on the top floor, the environment and ambiance were both pleasurable however, this did allow a birds eye view of the food being prepared and then placed under the heat lights for a prolonged period of time
The order was placed as follows Poached eggs with asparagus (this was my breakfast) £11 The toast was hard with a crust of steel, in my opinion it had been under the warming lights for too long, it had not been buttered before being plated and served. The two poached eggs were awful, quite literally two hard yolks with barely any whites, when cut into there was no soft yolk present, really disappointing The asparagus was crisp and well cooked
Pancake stack (this was my wife's breakfast) £12.95 This was great, well cooked, very well presented and tasty
Weavers full breakfast (this was my guests breakfast) £14.50 Looked to be well presented when it arrived Once again the toast was over cooked/warmed, same comment as above, only 25% was eaten The bacon was awful, over-cooked and chewy, this was uneaten The two hash brown style items were both charred, leaving the outer skin a little leathery, however, they were tasty The beans were nice and a little different The sausage & black pudding were fine, cooked well and was tasty
Scrambled eggs with truffle on toast (this was my guests breakfast) £10.95 A great breakfast, well cooked, tasty and nothing left on the plate Doggie sausage no complaints from the dog Two coffees, pot of tea for two, apple juice and a blood orange The drinks were all spot on
Our spend was not an insignificant amount for breakfast and totalled £70.35, (receipt ref 2987/2/878724)
We certainly did not get value for money, I would not return, nor would recommend this facility
Best regards
FOLLOWING THE RESPONSE TO MY FEEDBACK FROM THE OWNER I WOULD LIKE TO ADD THE BELOW
-As I stated in my email, I did not want to upset my wife or my guests by complaining, as I would not dream of asking for a refund, full or part. (The owner/responder seems to have overlooked and chosen to not mention this in their response)
-I did email and DID NOT receive a response, which is all I asked for, I never asked for, or even suggested a part or full refund. Nor did I ask for any type of credit as I would not ever consider eating or visiting Weaver and Wild again.
-Due to the lack of email response I called prior to leaving feedback, I believe I spoke to the owner who was extremely short, bad mannered and was not honest on the phone.
-Nor was he honest with his feedback response, he did not bid a farewell, or wish us a nice weekend.
-Poor attitude, bad manners and poor customer relations along with poor value for money make Weaver and Wilde a...

An absolute gem of a place located in Uppermill. Weaver & Wilde are passionate about what they do. They are an award-winning independent Coffee House and Grocers. Their quest is to source quality fresh produce from passionate local suppliers, artisans and growers to showcase the flavours of the changing seasons that are available right on our doorstep.
We ordered: Yorkshire Rarebit - Grilled creamy Lancashire and Manchego cheese with Dijon mustard and poached egg on lightly toasted artisan bread.
French Toast - A whacking piece of Roger's artisan sourdough Pullman soaked in milk and egg, topped with cinnamon and pan-fried in butter. Served with maple syrup and seasonal compote.
Mac & Cheese - Macaroni with our lightly spiced house cheese sauce, topped with an extra helping of mozzarella.
Cauli Cheese - Romanesque (a really funky cousin of the humble cauli) baked and grilled in our lightly spices house cheese sauce.
Minestrone soup
@darkwoodscoffee Coffee @teakeepers tea (rose hip hibiscus & Green Tea) @rogersbread to take home.
Their menu has a fab range of breakfast / brunch / lunch items as well as an evening menu. The food we got was simply fresh and tasty. We ordered heavy dishes but we honestly didn't feel it. Mac n cheese and cauli Cheese did not have a sickly feeling from all the cheese. The French toast was super soft inside. The soup was delish. Honestly a beautiful place to visit. Service was fab and I love that you can buy condiments that they use as well as the bread.

Read moreEdit went again as we were in the area and the owner told us "We haven't got table but you can squeeze in the side on the armchairs ". There we people sat there randomly, so we wouldn't of sat together by the look of it. My boyfriend said we wanted to order food and the owner replied "Yes, you can eat it on your lap" 🤣 safe to say we'll never go there again as I think we have given enough chances now.
Really enjoyed the last time we come but the second time was a complete let down. Soon as we walked in absolutely nobody come up to us to see if we wanted to be seating, even though there were plenty of staff around. I had to go up to the coffee counter and asked to be seated and got ignored when I said excuse me to one of the young waitresses. Once we were seated upstairs we were ignored once again. It was no more than 50% capacity up there so it wasn't even full. Again a young waitress was polishing cutlery and ignoring us and a young waiter just seemed to be floating around not really doing anything. When he eventually taken our order, we were informed some items had ran out. Completely understand this as it does happen. He didn't tell us this until after we ordered. Eventually we just left and didn't even order a drink. Disappointing. As a person that has worked in this industry, managers need to do there job and tell the staff what they need to be doing so they're actually organised and serve people. There were 5 people at least behind the counter downstairs and waitresses standing around. Didn't feel welcome and would only bother to come in if the lady manager is on and she knows what she's doing. Other than that...
