They say this place sells Texas BBQ, so let me tell you: there is no place I’ve found in DFW, Austin or Lockhart that edges ahead of this place. It’s so good that I’ve got to break it down and go into details. No silly stuff like my normal reviews. The ribs are meaty, tender, and sauced just right to balance with their natural flavor. The brisket is just moist enough, and is still tender enough to fall right apart when you lift it on your fork. The pulled pork is pretty great, as is the chicken: They run with a bit of a jerk flavoring which is a nice surprise but still delectable. Beyond all this they’ve also managed to innovate a tad—the beans, instead of being just pintos, are actually a mix, and that variety on the palette is actually fantastic! Also, the potato salad isn’t the standard mustard stuff you’ll find in the American south—it’s actual baby potatoes perfectly cooked with a lovely sauce drizzled on them with chives to round it off. It’s much more deluxe than what I’m used to. All in all an absolutely amazing effort, and at a price that is less expensive than any of my standards back in TX. (Plus they let you use forks, which something I’ve learned not to take for granted in the lone star state.)

Last Friday my Dad and I were in the mood American style BBQ goodness - Burnout BBQ did not disappoint. Food was fab and the service was friendly. They've done an amazing job of transforming what could be a limiting amount of space in to a fully functioning restaurant (take away only at the moment of course). Boasting a menu which isn't over crowded, but does have a good variety of choice. I personally went for the Philly Cheese Steak with a side of chips - which was definitely enough for one. The portion sizes aren't stingy let's put it that way!! It tasted great. The meat was deliciously cooked. perfect food for a winter evening. But the real critic is my Dad. Having grown up as a child in West Virginia, he wouldn't have suffered any imitations... and he loved it too - eating a wide range of selected meats and sides from the Burnout Box. Which again was seasoned perfectly to my Dad's liking with a generous portion size. We were so hungry that we ate the food before we remembered to take a picture - however here's an excited pic of me outside about to pic up our order. If you're in the neighbourhood, or looking through Deliveroo i'd definitely recommend these guys a try!

We are an American and British duo. I'm the American and I ordered the chili cheese hot dog (upgraded to beef) with brisket fries which I added American cheese to. My husband had the waffle beef taco and the burnout full throttle. Ordered one milkshake and a couple sodas. The food was okay, but we feel this place is overly hyped and overpriced. We spent a total of $87 here. We've had brisket at several other places in the area and it was comparable in flavor and quality. (Served in Mexican food and Asian cuisine). The hot dog had good flavor and was generously portioned. My brisket fries were a let down. We paid extra for adding American cheese (as nacho cheese) and they put the smallest drizzle. After eating the top layer of the fries, the rest was left very dry and lacking so I couldn't finish it. My husband thought his waffle taco was a good concept, but we agree the food itself is average. Good food ideas but without proper execution, it's just an average food place.

Left Burnout BBQ very happy and very full! The menu is pretty big, so you'll find something for almost everyone on there. Although it's a meat heavy menu, there are a few veggie options too. The quality of the food is really good - the theme is "American smokehouse diner" and I think it nails it, i was very pleased with what I ordered. In terms of drinks, they serve enough, although i think they could offer a few more varieties of soft and alcoholic drinks, as there wasn't a huge selection. The staff are friendly, and operate a "pay at the bar" system which works well as you can just leave when you're done. It's not a huge place, so I'd definitely recommend booking ahead. The decor matches the US diner theme, but the overall ambience isn't as corny you might think - the music was really good! Overall, really happy with the experience, and although it's not the cheapest place in Summertown, it represents reasonable value for what's offered.

Since moving from the US to the UK five years ago, one of the things I've missed most is the lack of decent BBQ food. No one in the three cities I've lived in has ever done pulled pork or brisket the way we do back home - until now. This is the place I'll come whenever I'm homesick. I had the Philly fries with coleslaw for my main and the Cajun spiced Mac n cheese appetizer, and both were delicious and very generously portioned. I felt quite stuffed from these and didn't have room for dessert, which was a shame because the milkshakes look amazing. I'd recommend coming with friends and coming hungry - the portions are very big, and great value for price. This is definitely a casual joint, perfect for a Friday night. The waitresses are super friendly and the food comes out quickly. I'd highly recommend this for a casual, laid-back night.

Visiting this lovely restaurant today with my mum who has been very ill and has had no appetite for some weeks due to medication and an illness, and is also quite frail, we were looked after by the most wonderful waitress, Lauren, who really encourage my mum to order some food, that would really suit the small appetite that she’s got. Lauren was incredible encouraging my mum to order something fairly simplistic, plain chicken bites and fries, I must have had ribs and chips. Lauren was exceptional. I went the extra mile to make my mum feel welcome and not a toy stupid as my mum was embarrassed that she’s very frail and hasn’t really had food for some weeks due to a major illness. It was lovely food and we will go back and thank you Lauren for being such a wonderful kind support to my mum
