Comie's Caribbean Grill — Restaurant in Oxford

My first girlfriend had parents from Barbados and Grenada. Her mum was an excellent cook, who made me fall in love with the flavours from the West Indies and Carribean. I have spent the last few decades searching for well cooked food to remind me of the time I spent with them. Yesterday, I decided to pop in to Comie's after passing it many times on my way in to Oxford. I ordered curry goat (my favourite), with a side of scotch bonnet hot sauce. It was by far the best curry goat Ive ever had. The flavour was full, yet subtly balanced. The goat was so tender, it melted in my mouth. I was instantly taken back to my younger years, which brought up many happy memories.

I will most definitely be stopping by Comie's when Im in the neighbourhood. Next time I'll try the jerk chicken.

The service was wonderful, I saw that one customer couldn't decide so the customer was given a sample. I ordered the two meals; one with oxtail and pepper steak. The meal came with rice & rice, salad, and mac & cheese. I got a side portion of chicken with mac & cheese. Plus a Guinness punch. The food was great as per usual. The food was cooked well, there was flavour in every bite. You also get good value for your money. I wasn't able to eat half of it so I ate the rest the next day and it reheated well. Social distancing and sanitizing were procedures in place. The only downside is that the takeaway boxes were styrofoam. I realised that heat from the good wrapped the styrofoam a bit. If you want your money robbed order from this place , ordered my food at 6.30 to the hospital 2 hours passed rang them to chase it up they answered the phone said they would chase the driver up and call me straight back… half an hour passed still no call back i called back over 5 times no response ignoring me…. then my boyfriend calls they answer and we can hear them screaming at each over in the shop god knows what about. Then after all the screaming they cut the call i’ve tried to call back over 5 times still no answer from them completely ignoring us i’ve paid for the food and still can’t get a response from everyone ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING we are in the hospital starving all of the shops shut...
