All of the G&D chains are excellent. It's mainly for a light lunch or snack. They all have the same good quality ice-cream. They all do sandwiches and toasties. It's a lunch shop basically. This one is the most Wheelchair friendly one of all. It has an accessible door but few seating spaces downstairs (it has a meziane in the middle up one stair). It has an excellent accessible loo but the turning circle is tight for RWD chairs if I'm honest. Reliable place to go and always popular. Not the most neurodivergant place to chill if I'm honest. But cosy up by the back door and loos in the summer and the open back door helps with noise dissipation.

Good place to have a breakfast. Located on the busy Cowley road. Plenty of seats. Home made ice-cream, for which they are famous in the city. The cafe has tables with chairs as well as couches with coffee table. It's £5 minimum on card. The staff who served me seemed ok. The place looked clean and tidy.

It's an institution in Oxford. If you visit Oxford and desire an ice cream or sorbet this is the place for you. Yes they have bagels and sandwiches. Hot and cold drinks. They have a great range of things to eat when you are working or studying here. You always see people using the location to get out and work in a better place. The range of ice creams and sorbets changes all the time so it makes it very exciting to come here to see what they have on offer. Excellent food and ice cream so you best check it out. I highly recommend here. Please press like if you found my review helpful thank you.

Probably the best cafe in Cowley road... despite stiff competition. One of my favourite places to go as has bagels, amazing ice cream, and great hot drinks. Oh, and WiFi: unlike G&D's in St Aldates. 😜

In normal times, this is a great place to meet and chill. IMHO the best of the three G&D's cafes in terms of open space, layout, and plug sockets - never feels like the queue of customers is behind your back.

Open during the pandemic, but only for take-out and only until 7pm (as opposed to the usual 9pm). Even does Deliveroo take-out.

Went there physically in lockdown 3.0 (09.01.20) and got some delicious Lotus biscuit ice cream. 🍦 Also a Double chocolate cookie 🍪 , and they're still doing bagels 🥯. In lockdown they seem to be rotating their ice creams less, but really cannot blame them for that and just glad they're still going. 😋

Just gone Vegan and they freely admit: they don't really cater fully for that (though, to be fair, they are better than most). However they do Vegan bagels that are better than the usual stuff. Also sorbets, meaning you get a good ice-cream experience as a Vegan (that other places really don't do). SUGGESTION: if they used Oat, Almond, Soya, or Coconut milk ice-creams, they'd have something even better ice-cream wise. But that's like lecturing Sir Ian McKellen on acting. 😏

Not been there? DEFINITELY give it a go. I don't own shares, but kinda...

Don’t go here if you’re over 20 years. My husband and I had a lovely stay in Oxford and we wanted to end the evening with a coffee. We walked in and a ‘girl’ was busy cleaning the coffee area, a chap was putting something in the microwave. Neither acknowledged our presence we waited and waited expecting some acknowledgement of our presence. We thought maybe they were closing. We went outside to check the opening hours. They were not closing and saw two students go inside and who were immediately served. We walked back in asked to have a coffee and was told we would need to wait for a few minutes by the chap; who was by the way quite polite. I did say well we did wait before and we were ignored and the ‘girl’ then decided to speak to us with a real attitude and told us she was busy cleaning. We decided this was not a nice place to end our break. I’m guessing the ‘girl’ doesn’t like anyone over 20. And believe me this is not written by an old ‘out of touch’ person. We live in Brighton and I can tell you we haven’t met with the kind of rudeness we at all in all our years in Brighton. As they say take a chill...
