Iām sorry but you need to have more consistency in the food and service you deliver. I have gone to Big Society many times and have ordered the same chicken with gravy with no issue (the gravy comes with the chicken at no extra cost). However, I ordered this same chicken on UberEats, where on the app, the picture of the chicken on the menu has gravy included and therefore, having had that same chicken at the restaurant I assumed I didnāt need to order the gravy separately.
The order arrives at my house and the gravy wasnāt included so I call the restaurant, the lady on the phone at first said I needed to order the gravy separately. I checked the menu and there is not a way to order the gravy as it isnāt even included in the menu. I called the restaurant again to complain about this then that same lady changed the reasoning for not including the gravy and said that they no longer include the gravy in deliveries - if thatās the case then why tell me first time that I needed to order the gravy separately?
In the end they told me to take it up with UberEats to complain but then when I did, UE couldnāt give me any refund. I am so appalled by this service. I spent Ā£20+ for my dinner tonight on Big society and Iām not even enjoying the food, the chicken is only bearable with the gravy!
Please remove images of the gravy on your UberEats site if you donāt intend to include the gravy with the chicken! Your inconsistency has made me not enjoy my dinner and has caused me unnecessary stress tonight. I paid Ā£20+ for a crappy experience....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUrban Village's takeover of Big Society has completely ripped it of its soul and flavour.
What was once my favourite place on Cowley Road, with the best wings, cocktails, fries and fried chicken in Oxford, has been 'revamped' with an already 10 years out-of-date makeover and bloated menu of too many options no one wants. No fault of the staff, they are great as always, but even the fries that the new management has chosen to supply Big Soc with are so inferior in quality and the portion sizes have drastically decreased.
Urban Village clearly has not spent any time on Cowley Road, did not understand what was good about Big Soc, and has plonked some naff treatment in a place where it doesn't belong. They have paid so little attention that even the photo of a pub in the background of the food menu page is of a completely different pub??? Let the chefs go back to making an expertly done, succinct menu. Let the bar staff go back to making the best cocktails, including the frozen ones in the summer.
Urban Village , prioritising a ludicrous number of tables the back garden feels cramped and the cheap fake foliage makes it feel dirty. and who is going to play ping pong and games in the winter with it being outside ?!?!
New management sucks. You have no taste - aesthetically or...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI tried to go for a drink and a meal in here however as a person who suffers from anxiety and panic attacks I don't wear a mask however as with many men who suffer from such hidden issues I chose not to wear a lanyard to "advertise" it instead I trust in the compassion and common sense of others. As a contractor I travel around and therefore visit a lot of places and quite a number of pubs maybe to my detriment.... This is the 1st such establishment that not only have I been asked why I am not essentially advertising the fact I have"issues" but that when I act very surprised at being asked to display a lanyard I was confronted by an aggressive male member of staff who told me to go and drink somewhere else if I didn't like it!! If I was the proprietor of such an establishment I would be mortified to hear of such a reaction from a member of staff! Fortunately I had my beta blockers on me and managed to calm down but others may not be so lucky.... I would urge anyone with "issues" such as mine to avoid this place like...
