Absolutely infuriated by the unprofessional experience I've had with one of the waiters. I've come here for the second time as I've been here before and I live three hours away. I went in with my partner and we were sat down towards the left side of the restaurant with a blue light from the floor glaring into our eyes. (The waiter we had was a slim guy in a dark blue shirt)
He came over to the table and gave the food menu and drinks menu which I kindly refused as we do not drink. I can see him looking over at the table and bickering about us to his colleagues and quite obviously it's racial since me and my partner are "mixed" now this is the worst bit.. he randomly comes over to the table approaching me and out of nowhere says "are you muslim?" to which I said "no" and he proceeds to ask "are you fasting?" The absolute cheek of him to come over to my table and ask me racist questions like that's any of his business? Me and my partner were very uncomfortable and we didn't want to cause a huge scene so we left it. We are there, paying for our food, why did he come over and ask such questions to me? Because I'm not white? Would you ask a white person that same question? There's other people being served, they didn't get asked those questions.
I am honestly dumbfounded by such comments made by that employee, utterly disgusted.
Guess what.. it gets even worse. Their family/relatives were sitting opposite me and they were having their food to break their fast with the restaurant staff, one of the women sat there had her phone held up to her face clearly angled towards me like she's filming/taking photos of me and my partner and trying to be sneaky about it because when I looked over at her directly she put her hand over the camera on the back of her phone so clearly she was doing something dodgy. The whole time they were sat there bickering and giving dirty looks. Whatever the reason was asking me dodgy questions by the first employee, this is inexcusable.. secretly recording us.
Now who are they to judge? A girl in a hijab was pouring a pint behind the counter especially during ramadan fasting hours. You are making haram money yet have the audacity to ask customers such inappropriate questions? And why is my personal life any of your business? Cultures like yours and people like you are who ruin nowadays generation and force your children to only marry within their own ethnicity otherwise you get disowned.
The food is absolutely brilliant, one of the best I've had in all honesty but due to this horrible experience we will not be returning. Maybe if people weren't so judgemental while choosing to live in the UK especially. If you choose to raise kids here then don't expect them to follow your backwards rules. Caring more about what other people will think than your own child's happiness isn't good either. I hope you all have a really hard think to yourselves after reading this and stop promoting...
Read moreWe eat out a lot and have been to restaurants all over the world and I can say without a doubt that this the WORST restaurant we’ve ever been to. There were about 20 of us and not one person had anything good to say about the food.
The meats were old and boiled and then all cooked in the same sauce. So every dish was virtually the same. The spices in the dishes were not cooked properly so you just ended up crunching raw spices and raw chilli powder. This made the dishes just taste of nothing but chilli and they were inedible. Even the king prawn puri starter tasted the same and was too greasy, with only one finely chopped prawn in it. I honestly could have done better with a can of dog food and a bottle of chilli sauce. Because we had paid a ridiculous amount of money for such terrible food, we didn’t want to leave it so we had it packed to take it away with us for our dogs. Between us, we have 7 dogs and using it as a dog food mixer is all it’s fit for.
We were going to cut a birthday cake after the meal, but we just wanted to get out of there, so we went back home to cut the birthday cake. Dealing with an obnoxious waiter was bad enough, but then the head waiter made matters worse when we paid the bill. He DEMANDED a tip!!! He was lucky we even paid for that muck and we would have gladly given a tip without being asked, if the food was any good.
Here’s a tip I’m gladly giving… Either get a chef who can cook, get better waiters or call in an official receiver for bankruptcy. Take pride in your work, so people will show their appreciation and you won’t have to demand tips.
Here’s a tip for anyone reading this… Avoid this place. Don’t waste your...
Read moreWe came for dinner on 01/04/2023. We were kindly seated by a member of staff. Shortly after, we placed our order altogether - starters, mains and drinks. Starters arrived quick and was good. We tried the prawn puri for the first time. We then waited over 45mins for our mains. Within this time tables around us had ordered and almost finished eating. Upon asking why the food was taking long we were told "you've already had starters" and "we make the food fresh". But it is rather unusual to wait this long. Staff should've apologised instead of attempting to argue. Mains arrived, I was looking forward to the Garlic chicken but I didn't taste much of garlic in there. The food wasn't brilliant neither was it bad. It was edible, sufficient and "okay". Seating was good and comfortable, they have some sofa type of seating. Seating area is spacious and tables aren't cramed together. Restaurant also serves tap water which is good - some don't. After eating, table was cleaned up swiftly. I was fasting on this day, Mr Kalam instantly brought me dates and water to open my fast, he exercises great social etiquette and customer service. A pleasure to be served by you. A couple of other older men lack good customer service unfortunately. Perhaps it was a bad day at the restaurant. But know that for many customers including myself, food doesn't really matter to me. Rather it's the way you conduct yourself and your customer service and treatment to guests visiting your restaurant. I hope my next visit will be a much better...
