Lanzhou Beef Noodles老兰州牛肉拉面 — Restaurant in Oxford

We originally planned to go to Zhangji, but it was extremely busy on a Friday evening with no available seating, so we came here instead—big mistake.

One of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in Oxford. When I tried to order, many items were already unavailable. Then, when it came time to pay, the staff told me—only because I’m Chinese-looking—that they don’t accept bank cards, and I must pay either in cash or via Chinese WeChat transfer. There were no signs inside or outside the restaurant indicating it’s cash only. I expressed my dissatisfaction, but the staff insisted with a very unhelpful attitude.

When the food finally arrived, my noodles were incredibly salty—almost inedible—while my companion’s dish was totally normal. This inconsistency made us feel very uncomfortable, and the service throughout was cold and dismissive.

Will definitely not be returning. Terrible service, discriminatory behavior, and poor...

I have no idea why i never hear about this place, i tried pretty much all sushi places within the Oxfordshire, but this place is WAY WAY better. Sushi are so fresh, presented beautifully and arrive so quick to your table. Takoyaki(octopus balls) where the freshest and softest with that crunch. Chicken gyoza - deliciously crunchy and juicy. Absolutely lovely place! From now on this is my favorite sushi place in Oxford for dine in or take away! And their prawn tempura sushi - is another level. This place guys, you definitely need to visit! next time you in Oxford skip the Sushi corner or Taberu sushi, and come over to this family running place. Absolutely fantastic. These are authentic Lanzhou style beef noodles. The soup is full of flavor and the star of the show are the hand-pulled noodles. The portion size is generous and the price very reasonable. Tip: Add some of the vinegar and mild chili that is provided to the soup after the first half.

Forget the overpriced and westernised Ramen stores in the city center. This is the best bowl of noodles you can...
