place was empty when we arrived so it was strange we were sat away from the window but the place became busier as we ate. Front staff all friendly and efficient, but then it wasn't busy. The menu looked amazing and spoiled for choice. It was a really interesting menu, we wanted to order one of everything. Unfortunately some things weren't available. Food came out very quickly, almost too quickly but can't complain about that. The starters were ok size but the main course for £12+ pounds was in a medium rice bowl not a large bowl. It was eaten in minutes and I had to order a second main, which was actually a better portion size. The lu rou mian was bland and very Western, there was very little Asian taste apart from the rice! It wasn't bad, just not matching the reviews. The bao bun was good. The yaki soba for some reason I thought was going to be a Japanese noodles in a soup but was more a pad thai with a different sauce. Not bad, and more full than than the rice bowl. But again lacking in Asian spice and kick, the main texture was from the bean sprouts. No condiments on the table like you'd expect. And don't forget the 10% service charge. Over £50 for two starters, two mains and two drinks, all of which underwhelms. It's more of a lunch spot with dinner prices. Actually I would go back for lunch with lower...
Read moreI had my lunch which was Indonesian Satay with beef and Oolong tea. The food was excellent, exactly original Indonesian taste brought in a big portion together with a bowl of steam rice and a very fresh and tasty salad. Prices rather small according to the quality and quantityof food and great service 10+for the Chef. The server , Julia was extremely kind, helpful, professional, smiling all the time. 10+ Inside is a nice music , not very loud, but exactly how it should be in a small cozy Asian food place. Very peaceful and relaxing. However, it was the first time when I came to eat in this place. I walked inside, but I walked outside immediately to check the Korean pub on the opposite side of the road. Why? Because Pan Pan it doesn't look so great decorated from outside and I didn't trust it so much. I ve lived in Thailand and traveled in whole indochina for 20 years. I wanted an authentic taste of Asian food. So, I came back 3 min later because the other Korean pub was closed, so I didn't have a choice. And I didn't regret any second ! I felt absolutely great in Pan Pan! I recommend from whole my heart 💯 ❤❤❤❤❤ I ll come back at Pan Pan for sure. Pan Pan is not only a fake advertising, but for sure" The real taste of Asian Far East". Thank you, Chef, Julita and all Pan Pan staff for your...
Read moreNice food, quite a selection so only tried a handful. Calamari was cooked perfectly but the 5 spice flavouring seemed to be predominantly black pepper, luckily I love black pepper but not the aromatic flavouring I was expecting. Tobboki was good, but not what you might expect from the description - mochi sticks in a spicy gochujang sauce and the fishcakes looked similar to kitsune fried tofu. The K.F.C. 5 spice didn't have much of a 5 spice flavour and came with a 5 spice mayo dip that didn't work for me, would have preferred something soy based. Edamame were perfectly cooked and hot which is rare! Siu mai were nice with a slightly chunky texture which is unusual but was tasty. It's a small place with a funky aesthetic, food is served quickly so turnover is probably quick when busy. Prices are a bit steep for 'street food', luckily we weren't very hungry so 5 small dishes was enough for a light supper between 2. With just tap water our...
