Six Bells — Restaurant in Oxford

Under new ownership so ignore photo's of the earlier menus; see today's Easter weekend opening menu, that will give a taste of what is on offer. The portions are generous, the roast vegetables were perfect as were the accompanying vegetables, all just cooked to perfection, no soggy roast potatoes, crisp on the outside, fluffy on the inside. Amongst the party we had the squash wellington (perfect pastry), lamb and beef, all with the same veg. I must not forget to mention the stupendous Yorkshire puddings either, or the gravy. There was room left for a couple of the party to have puddings, they were reported as delicious. I forgot to add that the background music is very pleasant, a good choice and just the right volume so it doesn't intrude on...

Came here after a funeral for a wake. We brought many people to the pub and we spent a good sum of money over the bar. We arrived to an empty car park and upon entering the pub I stood waiting for the barmaid with my car keys clearly visible for quite a while waiting to be served. At no point was I warned about charges in the car park. Two weeks later I recieved a parking ticket for £100 (£60 if you pay within.. blah blah)!! Furious that people are profiteering in this kind of way, especially when they made quite a bit of money out of us through the drinks that were bought by the funeral party. Very low...

I don't usually write reviews but after visiting this place for the first time, I felt compelled to write one, as we were so very impressed by the customer service and the food!

Food was amazing, prices were reasonable, and portions were generous. But what impressed us the most was the customer service -- all the staff were so incredibly kind, friendly, and thoughtful, and even went out of their way to bring a smile to our 4-year-old's face when we learned that they were out of a certain dish that he'd had his heart set on.

Would definitely recommend this place and we'll certainly...
